I was thinking about it and every single hellcat on the Dodge website lists a price to lease and a price to buy yet none of these dealers want to lease the car when I call them about it. Would it be constructive to complain/ report these dealerships to the manufacture?

I don't think so. Most special build vehicles are not leased. I especially can't see the hellcat being leased cuz they know you'll probably just beat the shit out of it. If u really want one just buy it. You will not regret it

Given the manufacturer's past lack of interest in dealers shady dealings on the Hellcats - you would be wasting your time.

I see this topic has been brought up before. Interestingly enough, is was my salesman that suggested I lease. Curious why dealers/sales/F&I guys dont want to lease these vehicles. The dealer doesnt care what you do with it once it leaves the lot. The only logical factor is there must be $$$ tied to it, as in they somehow make less on a lease.

Last I checked for my area, 24 month lease had 62% residual and 36 month was 55% residual, both at 10k per year. The interest rate is about 7% on the lease, so certainly higher.

Leasing makes great sense to me whether paying cash or financing. If the car is a problem or you get in an accident in the first 2/3/4 year(s) of the lease term and it gets reported to Carfax and the value dives, you dont keep it, if not, you just buy out the lease and finance or pay cash for it. Even if you plan on keeping it forever, leasing out of the box is smart. Total finance cost will be slightly higher but leasing is not much more than just finacing. I consider it cheap insurance should the vehicle be (A) you find out not suited for you, (B) lemonish or problematic, (C) involved in an accident that is reported and diminishes the value or (D) volume is ramped up and it becomes a buyers market.

I've spoken to at least 4 dealers that have no problem with leasing. Wouldn't blame you if you contacted SRT and asked them for advice. After all, leasing is prominently displayed on the dodge site. You might find out, however, that it's a decision allowed to be made at the dealership level. If so, then find another dealer. Worst case is you have to pay shipping or travel to pick up. PM me if you want info on the dealers I spoke with.

Dealer ships are independently owned. FCA has no say so.

You can lease a special build and you have the option to buy it or let them have it. It does not matter what you do to it whatever physical damages there is you pay for it mechanical its under warranty you can lease these wherever you want the dealers who say you cant are lying ive spoke to numerous dealers when I get mine I'm doing lease to buy theres no difference in how much they get paid on it either lease or buy whatever the price they sell it for and how much gross profit there is they get the same amount

Nope. The base models you can lease. SRT models, not so much. Atleast itd be wise to own, as the payment of $1200+ isn't worth to lease a Hellcat.

What sucks about leasing in Maryland is you get taxed on the entire purchase price of the car. Then get taxed again if you decide to keep it.
