Drove the car today again and twice I put the clutch in to turn around on the highway and the throttle stayed at 4000 rpm for about 4 seconds. Foot wasn't on the throttle. Happened again just before a light. I looked at the floormats and it looked pretty close to throttle at the top. Hoping that was it. Anybody else had that problem?

No I have not. Aftermarket mats?
With the way the factory mats are anchored, I don't see how they could interfere with the gas pedal.

If 4000RPM is WOT on your HC, then you have much bigger issues that your mats.... :)

I guess I didn't explain the thread right. Stayed at about 4000 for 4 seconds or so. Wide Open was a bad choice of words.

They were definitely after market mats but they still had holes for the clips by the front of the drivers seat. I'll have to try to go out and see if it does it again.

    Thanks

Could your launch control have been on?

Lol. I have no clue how to do that. I don't see how that could have happened, wasn't in the screen at all. Can it be done from the steering wheel?

Never have I had that happen and I have aftermarket mats on top of my SRT mats. But then I am pretty cautious about where the mats are situated. I hope it was the mats as that's an easy fix. Good luck.

unless your car lost battery voltage, your mats may be the culprit. It is definitely something to watch and be careful with. Aftermarket floor mats in all types of makes and models have crunching up issues near accel pedal. it is a blessing that you found the floor mat doing this, quite simply it could have caused something to go wrong regardless if it ends up being the cause.

Yeah hope it is the problem. Otherwise, I don't want to think about it.

Not so sure that's it but I'll try it again to see if it happens again. Hope it's not the tune. That would validate the anti Hennessey talk.

it is worth noting and watching just note what is going on with gauges with SRT pages and visual as well
seen rpms stick or get lazy because of low voltage, your on the right track though

It was weird. Didn't seem like there was a voltage problem but a screwdriver and a crescent wrench is the extent of my auto knowledge.

low voltage issue would be very evident with lights dimming and other electronics not working right. the cars are very susceptible to really seem like there is something really bad wrong when the battery is low. As you do, I don't think your battery is low either, something to watch for thats all
