I just took delivery of my new charger Hellcat. The recommended tire pressure on the door label says 32 psi for all four tires. My tires came from the factory at 45 psi. Does anyone have an idea why the factory would put so much pressure in them?

Mine too. Swapped out O2 for Nitrogen and put them at 35 PSI. I live in Nebraska and with the cold now, 35 psi warm = 32 psi cold. Damn sad that she'll be garaged in a few weeks! Enjoy your baby - I LOVE mine!

On further thought, might have been over-inflated for transport to add clearance for splitter. Just guessing.

They ship with high pressure. The dealer is supposed to set the pressure before you take delivery.

Mine were the same...results of crappy acceptance inspection by the dealer...on the stock setup I stick with 32 psi...

The added PSI will help the tire not get flat spots if it sits on the lots for long periods of time.

My cat was high ( over 40 lbs) from the factory as well. I keep it at exactly what it says in the door panel no matter the season but check when cold. I keep the pressure right-on with my little $120 garage air compressor and my trusty Joes Racing Tire Pressure Gauge. I seldom find anything that cost this little that impresses me this much. If you love your car as much as I, don't use one of those crap, inaccurate, now plastic, China air pressure gauges from the local parts store. Auto Zone, O'Reilly, Advance etc all no longer stock any gauge that is not junk IMO.

I say, drop a hint to your wife or husband, etc and get one of these Joes Racing gauges as a Christmas gift . For $21.95 it is the best anything I have ever purchased for my car! The gauge includes both the angle and the brass ball round end. Has the button on the side so you fill the tire then quick release the air to the exact pressure you need. A very fast, accurate way to fill your tires!

Makes a great stocking stuffer for that special car person on your list. That person will think you spent $100 as the quality feels that good and in this day in time quality for $22 is almost non-existent and no Im not Joe, just a big fan!
