I have contacted several dealers in my area about placing an order for a Challenger Hellcat. Both told me I have to wait for the 2016 models as the 2015 allocations are spoken for and order banks are closed.

Anybody know this to be true or should I find a dealer that knows what the heck he's talking about?

You should still be able to order a 2015. The 2nd allocation opens up in December, just depends on which dealers Actually have cars allocated to them. I noticed that there are a few Hellcats on Autotrader.com. You might look around there and make some calls.

I would think that if the order banks were closed, they would
have removed the Hellcat from the build site. They have not. Ordered mine on 10/28 and received VON. Told it would be 6 to 8 months. Contact Bob Frederick and see if he is still taking orders.

Find another dealer that will allow you to place an order.

You can definitely still order one. I just spoke to a dealer Friday about it. If you got the money, they can get you the car.

You know, a lot of people have orders at more than one dealer from some posts I have read. I have a feeling once production really starts cooking, you can get about anything you want if you keep an eye out and act fast.;)

I looked on cars.com last Sunday and they were all sold orders even though they were listed even on the dealer's website as being on the lot or in transit.

there is one at Stephen's in Greenwich, NY but they've got it on flea bay and it's already a bit over $5K over msrp. item # is 321593773200 and the Biz Link Mgr at the dealership is Greg Fuller.

Once I get one nailed down, i'll be sure to post all the other 'possibles' I found among the 100+ dealers I've communicated with in a bunch of states. I'm still looking myself but absolutely enjoy helping other enthusiasts.

This memo has been circulating in Canada I wonder if it's the same for the US?? The plant can only build so many and they don't have an unlimited supply of motors...

My take is that they will continue to take orders but they will be for the following model year production.
I think they are still trying to gauge the market demand

Well at least the dealer is honest and told you he did not have the allocations.
some crooks will take your deposit and let you sit

I am ordering mine on the 13th at a very small dealer in the town I live close to..will there be a wait ,undoubtedly , but if you have the patience you will still be able to order one. The key is the length of the wait...

Could be. Would make sense given production constraints (5000 for 2015). That does not, however, mean you wont be able to find one in 2015, may not be able order one but could claim an allocation or order that was left unclaimed. BUT, IMHO this is why what you heard could be true - there were 5000 orders in the first month alone. So even if (1) Dodge did not take another order and (2) 2000 people made duplicate orders or did not want to move forward when their order was picked up by dodge (unikely but possible) - it would not change the fact that in 2015 there will be on average no more than 2 Hellcats for every dealership in the US and Canada (aprox 3200 dealerships in US and Canada); some may get more, some may get none. That is why finding a dealer with allocation who will sell at MSRP is key. If you do not yet have an order in for 2015, it will be difficult to get your hands on one unless you are willing to pay a bit over MSRP (not me - I have passed up two already; one at 10K over and one at 15K over).
