So once you get your Hellcat, are you going to roll to the mechanic shop and swap engine oils or do it yourself to your preferred brand? If so, what brands would you use and what kind of oil filter cap to go with it? I'd love to see everyone's thoughts and taste.

Do you know what Dodge is recommending? They had a synthetic blend in my Charger so I stayed with that. I always ran a full synthetic in my Cadillac, but I am not sure about this higher performance engine so I am anxious to get answers from the experts on this.;)

Yeah they recommended pennzoil for my super bee 6.4L but when I called them to ask for what specific oil to use they were fumbling for words. I talked to 3 different service reps. After that it scared me cuz if they don't know for sure what they are putting in my car I'll get it done myself.

I will wait for 7,500 miles to convert to Mobil One. First change at 500 miles, second at 4k and changeover at 7.5K. I converted Prowler to Mobil One at 500 miles and engine rings never seated well until 19,000. Once seated the power increase was very noticeable.

Royal Purple is another great choice for oil along with their filter.

I plan on changing my own oil and filter. Might go with Royal Purple and like Russ said
about 7500 miles until using it.

I run that SRT Pennzoil Ultra 0w-40 in my 14 SRT Jeep. Wonder if they will recommend the same for the Hellcats.

    ^^^

Yep, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 full synthetic is what they will be using & recommending. I've been using Mobil 1 for close to 25 years in all my cars, except the GT500.

Can't see a reason though to make the change, the Pennzoil UP looks to be a superior lubricant, especially if you want to keep the inside of the engine as clean as possible.

Thank you for this info. The service dept tries to jerk me around sometimes so I like having the knowledge up front. :) Keep them on their toes.

Don't trust them to use the correct oil. I've read many posts of dealers using the wrong oil. I always took my oil and filter in for them to change. Better safe than sorry IMO
