Maybe I never herd of that until you just mentioned it. He just mentioned in passing that they were working on something special for the track

Well I've a friend that works for Chrylser... that when I told him I had reacquired a Hellcat he said "You might want to have waited for the ADR". That is all he would say.

maybe good for acceleration but all of that extra drag has to eat into the available HP/torque at top end.

I wouldn't think they'd let it go another year without making improvements. That being said I wouldn't wait for anything.
One can only hope that they take some weight out of the car use an aluminum block pin the crank improve the driveshaft and make room for bigger tires front and rear. adding more aero is not the answer in my humble opinion. As far as I can tell there is nowhere for me to use speeds in excess of 160 anyways.
Why and where would I go 200mph and what would be the point bragging rights?
    Light is right.

i would not assume a track Challenger would be a SRT......could be RT based to sell to the masses....the 1970 TA challenger wasnt a 426 hemi....

you may see a twin turbo v6 to bring the weight down........they cant make a 4500lb car a Boss 302 or Gt350

You guys are dreaming, as I am.. The Challenger is a big car and would require some significant resources to make a real impact, and at this point in the game on a chassis platform that is 10 years old it's not going to happen. Now when the new platform comes online in 2018 or 19, all bets are off.

I had an '08 Challenger SRT with the 6.1. Not long after I got it they produced a very small number of the "Challenger in White" cars that were for the track. I've only seen one and that's the one they gave to Don Garlits. It was almost completely stripped down and was only for the track. I don't recall that they made any real waves. I think Don still has his.

Maybe resume speed can chime in here? Not sure if the concept sells with the adaptive suspension our cars have already
