I'll post in more detail later my road trip to Belgium.
At the customs area I was asked to open the trunk.
I used the trunk release button on the dash and now the boot lid would not stay shut.
It shuts and then releases a second or so after.
To stop it I have to unlock and lock the car.
Same thing now happens with the button on the trunk lid most of the time.
If I use remote trunk opening it seems to work fine.
Any help on how to solve this issue would be very much appreciated,
    many thanks

Sounds like a bad button or the bumper stops may need adjusting at the rear of each side of the trunk, small black knobs on each side of the trunk that you turn to adjust the closing level of the trunk

Could you have left a key fob in the trunk? It is a safety feature that you can't lock your keys in the trunk.

Make sure the little yellow pull tag in the truck is not pulled out a little. That has happened to quite a few of us.

That is a good point. I had my spare red key in my carry bag in the trunk

Just been out and checked and the pull tag was hanging out a little. Pushed it back up and it opens and shuts fine with either the boot release or the internal push button on the dash. Luggage must have snagged it.
    Many thanks Guys.
This is such a great place :)

Glad I'm not the only one that takes both red keys with them on trips .
