Quick question. If I install all of the available bolt on goodies: headers, both pullies, thermostat and 3.09 rear with driveshaft, can I actually drive it and if so for how long WITHOUT a tune??

I guess the question is; why would you NOT want to tune it?
You're doing all that work but leaving out the one largest gain you can make on these cars.

You'd be asking for trouble... if you're going to go thru all that why would you attempt it without a tune? What is the rational?

Yes you need to tune it. Why on Earth would you do pullies and not tune??

If it's a money issue, wait until you can afford the tune before installing parts. The driveshaft, thermostat, rear can be done (although need to adjust speedo with gear swap) but the headers and for sure the pullies need to be tuned.

Was not to be a question of not doing it "period", only if doing everything else will everything run until a tune was done. If I wanted to get all the work done by myself or local and then wanted to drive it to a tuner 8, 12 or 16 hours away, could this be done? I guess I should have phrased the original question better.

With that many changes at once I wouldn't risk it. My bet is it would be way off and could damage something. Not wort the risk.

I wouldn't recommend driving the car with those mods installed without a tune... You should be able to get your tuner to send you a base tune (with the mods accounted for) then do a short drive with data logging to make sure its safe to get it to your actual dyno tune session.

They could probably email you a tune that is safe enough to drive it reasonably for the trip. If not, a trailer is much cheaper than an engine.
