So here I am perfectly happy with my 10.8 second quarter mile Hellcat. Faster than 95% of cars on the road and with my 5 year 100,000 mile warranty not worried about a thing. Snug as a bug in a rug.

Then Top cat and Linda start running 9's and I'm like a crack addict looking for my next hit! LOL

So the question is the reward worth the risk. I don't want to run NOS, METH or E85. Linda has run 9.7 blower only but also on 17 inch Welds with stickey Mickey's. I would like to run a 9.99 with my stock wheels on Nitto 555R's. Don't know if it's possible but the thought of driving to the track on my daily driven wheels/tires airing down, blasting out a 9 second pass, airing up and driving home sounds really cool.

Tuning gurus can this be done? Of course track elevation, conditions, etc... Will all play a role but in theory on a well prepared track in good DA could this be done?

What mods would be required and estimated cost?

Is it worth the risk of voiding your warranty? I know you think you need to mod just in case you run in a Camaro like mine, but you will still beat the majority of the cars you will encounter.

nothing but risk unless you're a serious racer. traction is already the number one problem so tires and good driving technique are the top solutions.

If I were to do 1 thing mechanically it would be a nitrous spray through the plastic air inlet only--but then again we're back to traction..

You can actually hook really well with the drag radials. I do mostly roll racing (in Mexico) which starts at 40-60 which always helps with the traction issue

I'm not a internet racer I race for real. Hopefully when your ride gets my Camaros age it will still be in good shape. You dont have to come to MI, I will catch them when they come to the track;)

just drive it, no matter what you do and how much you spend, there will always be a faster one, you will never win the race to keep up

It's more of an addiction the faster you go, the more faster you wanna go. I like having a factory warranty for now, because a few of these engines have failed. But when it runs out then it's on. I say if you wanna do it go for it and I can live vicariously through your car.

This comes down to what you can afford and by that I mean can you afford to replace what you break without hurting your family or personal finances, running 10.8 is not slow in any book.........

Hmmm as for age of the car .. Another one of my cars ....My CAMARO 1986 Iroc original owner 16,000 miles... Think this answers your question of good shape .. And I might just have to grab a few of my guys and make a Trip to Michigan ... I can use it as a excuse to visit some family members who work for SRT maybe we will make a track day of it they know a thing or two about FAST cars

Yeah I can afford it and I usually mod all
My cars. My 2011 CTS-V ran 10.7 so I know the game. If I lived within 2 hours of HHP it would be done already I just need to find a top notch shop close to me to do the work.
