How can we turn off the halo lights?
I've been ignoring it until now, but just thinking about the fact I'm forced into daytime running lights irritates the heck out of me.

Go into your settings. There you can select the orange halo for DRL's.

Is it some sort of government safety regulation?
or a corporate insurance organized agreement?
    Why??
We have the option to turn off the back up camera, and lame rain sensing wipers, but oh no, gotta have those halos,

I think the halo's are pretty much a styling concept. It's a look. All Challengers have them.
I haven't looked in my manual how to turn them off, but I would like them brighter with parking lights.

Are you referring to all halos, or just the orange DRL's?

I looked through the owners manual and have found where to turn off the daytime running lights via the touch screen but the white halos are still on, how about a little help?

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say there is no way to turn them off. I haven't found any setting to do that. Unless there is a separate fuse just for the Halos. Personally for me, I love the look, but understand it might not be for everybody.

The Chargers lights are a bit different setup, but the strips are illuminated by individual LEDs that can be changed. As you have to tap into the existing wiring to power and signal the controller that operates the LEDs, it should be easy enough to intercept the signal prior to the emitter (bulb) and install a switch to either kill or permit the signal.
My mods haven't affected the can/bus signal as far as I can tell. No codes have been recorded.
When you get into them, they're still kind of old school wiring (just more wires). Trace them out and pick the ones you want. Wiring diagrams are readily available.

If you have the answer please enlighten me and forgive my lack of reading comprehension, I have not found this option in the owners manual, although I did find where to turn off daytime running lights in the performance option pages, that option is apparently just to turn off daytime headlights. The headlight switch itself and associated brightness level dial next to it don't seem to have a function that I can find for turning the halos off.

You can't turn them off in a Canadian spec car. The US cars have the ability to turn them off or so I've heard.

Woo Hoo! Finally figured it out. Look Ma, NO DRL's!

After a bit of trial and error, it turns out the white halo DRL's are controlled by Pin 14 (Front Sidemarkers) on the Headlight Lamp Assembly connectors. Running on only 1 volt this circuit turns on side markers at night (headlights on) or when the parking lamps are on. But in daytime (ie: headlights off and parking lights off), the same circuit supplies 12 volts for the bright DRL's halo's.

By using a mini 15 amp step down buck voltage regulator (inside a small plastic project box) for each side and directing the Pin 14 and Pin 7 ground wire thru it, then reducing the voltage below 5 volts (via pot on regulator) shuts them down completely, yet still supplies enough voltage (1 volt) for the side markers to still work. The BCM does not check line sense voltage on the side marker circuit. Thus, everything else on the lighting system continues to operate normally.
