Okay.... so I just got off the phone with one of my sponsors and they want to install a turbocharger and keep the existing supercharger along with my Nitrous system. Any feedback on whether or not I should do this?

They do it to a ton of cars... Guess that they have it figured it. I just watched a video on youtube with a Ford GT that has twin-turbos, a supercharger and Nitrous. If I can find enough space, I'll put twins in.

Hellion Turbo has kits for the GT 500, keeping the blower, as well. Compound boost is what they call it.

Compound boost setups suck. Better to go for twins and sheet metal intake manifold.

Well, if they do it and it destroys itself, you have 3 more Hellcats to get it right

At Carlisle? Still pissed i am missing it by 5 days

Listen, many of us DREAM on having 4 Hellcats. You are very lucky. My suggestion is DO IT! we love to see stuff done in somebody's car that we cannot/would not do in ours. Go for it !!!

I would say simply don't do it...and just 'me opinion...

The HC engine is still being explored, and probably can make an easy 100-150 more HP with just bolts/tunes/fuels, and still be drivable everyday, tractable and competitive for you on the track.

Adding turbos, superchargers, etc. is going to make this thing even more nose heavy, obliterate the tires at part throttle all the way past 100 mph, and probably need a mechanic to live in your backseat with a laptop trying to figure things out. It may turn out to be one of those cars that can't even go faster top speed-wise due to air resistance-but the power still overcomes the rear tires at 220mph+. Not fun.

Further, I can't imagine the complexity of trying to run such a system? Simply going to a twin turbo alone and all of the tuning/fueling would probably be a several week long adventure in dynos alone. I can't imagine much turbo lag with the auto and it's gearing.

It is your money, but more importantly your time, brain power, and ultimate effort. I want a cool car that is fast, not a headache-and SC/TT setups on a car 5 minutes old sounds like a bloody wet headache.

    [/rantswitchoff]

    YMMV :)

If anything, have your sponsors look into tubbing and fitting more tire underneath (11.5-12.5 inch rims), enhancing the drive train to survive the rigors of racing and explore what the other maniacs here have been doing swinging there way to 900 hp, etc.
