Uconnect's new update now adds back vehicle location. A while back it was on there but was removed (Probably due to a security exploit). It's now back. The location isn't completely accurate. As of right now it's saying its about two blocks from me when it's really only 50ft away. My current position reported is actually where the car physically is aha. (Consumer use GPS won't be accurate)

For those who get paranoid or your car is stolen, This is a method of finding the general location of where it is. Ripping out the battery obviously disables this. If the thief some how manages to have the keys and disabled the vehicle finder on the uconnect in your car. You can re-enable it from your phone.

Yeah, not too accurate on location. It says my car is about 5 miles from me. Actually looked out the window to make sure it wasn't!

The POS thinks my car is 3 miles away from me. These apps are such junk.

FCA just sent me a notice that my access is expiring and they want $149 a year. Ya, right.... Dropped that email in the trash LOL..

What a bargain for the $149 yearly access fee LOL. Good think I know where my car really is otherwise I would have thought it had gotten stolen!

It won't see your car in a parking garage. What's annoying is that it sends you what must be the "last known" location... it told me I'd left it at home! I can (usually) UConnect remote start the car when it's in this parking ramp, so this is probably (and understandably) due to lost GPS reception.

Out of due diligence, on Saturday night I told Ralph Gilles that "UConnect sucks". He knows; he's frustrated too.

Of course it can't track your car if it doesn't have a GPS location and if it can't get cell service it can't do anything. Seems many people today have unrealistic expectations of technology as if it is magic that should function regardless of the reality of the environment.

I did. It shows me in the house and the car in the driveway about 100 away. I put the car in the garage and it still shows in the driveway because it has no GPS signal now, but I expect that.

My location is accurate. I am wondering if you can get a reduction in insurance with an active locator like this. I am calling Allstate today and ask. It may justify the $149 fee.

I wonder if a thief would know to disconnect the battery right away to shut down the GPS system.
