Posted earlier but thanks. My dealership does not have either fix yet. Good thing I did the first once myself.

Figured it was posted already, since this was brought to light a few days ago.
But this article was dated for today and it said FCA made the announcement today.
A brief scan down the TSB forum showed no signs of a thread mentioning it, so I figured in the rare case a few owners here hadn't heard about this yet, this post may catch their eye.

I don't know if it even affects me. I don't use the UConnect and haven't even signed up for it or registered it as far as I know.
Maybe the dealer did it for me when I bought the car, but I sure as heck didn't. Maybe they can hack into it regardless of whether you are signed up or not. But to be honest, really, who would want to hack into an individual persons car and mess with it, unless you are well known and not very well liked. I think I have a better chance of being struck by lightening twice than someone saying, "hey I'm gonna hack into this random persons UConnect and take control of his car, let's see if I can cause him to have an accident and maybe kill a few people in the process"

It's the program written & executed on a broad scale that should be alarming. I don't think you had to sign anything for U (hooped) Connect as it was a free trial offer; Just like Sirius radio. Been trying to get the patch repair, but the site doesn't like Firefox or the XP I have running on the old computer. Marketing at it's best! Bill Gates: Y.C.G.F.Y.!

As much as I use the interweb, I hate the f@$king thing about as much or more... Is there some AM, 8-track, Matrix, tinfoil hat thing I can get instead?:p:D:rolleyes:o_O

(I posted a conversation under recall on the Wiki this am, it's not a tsb.)

    It affects you.

Internet not required to pull of this stunt, meaning I could remotely reach your car and never utilize the public internet. And it wouldn't matter if you were either.

Interesting, I'm no computer guy or engineer so I don't know these things. I'm still not worried.
I'll have the recall or tsb or whatever they want to call it done when I have another reason to go to dealer.
Won't make a specific trip for it. I don't get freaked out by every little thing in life so I'm not going to change my life around and into a paranoid mental state over this, ya know? :)

Did you download it wifi in the car or how did you do it?
For us tards, can you list a step by step?
If on a computer, I'm all Apple.

So Ben Affleck's screwed and that doesn't include the eventual divorce proceedings? Guess Letterman will rejoice at Leno's hacking demise!

I went to the Ucconect site and it gave step by step instructions.

Basically you down load it to your computer and then put it on a flash drive and upload it in the car. really pretty simple

If you go to the uconnect website where you put in your VIN to check for updates, it gives a pretty stanadard and easy step-by-step process on how to do it. Its pretty easy, get a clean thumb drive, download the file, take it your car and let it install. Some people have had it take a few tries, others like me worked perfect the first time. But the steps they give are pretty good as well
