Okay, so one mans opinion (and most others I've asked) is that the supercharger, while impressive in size is rather dull and industrial looking. I see that American Car Craft makes a chrome cover, but I'm not all that into chrome.
Anyone else making something that dresses up the big supercharger?

    Cheers,

    Robert

Personally, I think stuff such as to which you refer to is for rice burners and Corvettes. The Hellcat supercharger has it's own beauty. Be happy ( and thankful ) with what you have!

I would think any sort of cover would retain unwanted heat. Polished aluminum can shine almost like chrome if a guy wants to take the time. Bet you could take the supercharger off and have it professionally polished if you want to spend the money.

I actually think it's a work of art and the engine, including the blower is beautiful.

Every time I open the hood I get the wow factor. Part of it is because I know what it can do. And I haven't used it all yet, and am adding more. Shhhh.

One other thought on a more technical side, if you read any of the history of the development of the Hellcat engine, heat management was a critical issue, hence all of the fancy intake and discharge vents. I would imagine that the top of the supercharger acts as some sort of heat transfer device for internal heat. It is known that cooler temps improve performance and combustion and likely improve boost from the supercharger. There's no doubt that increased heat will shorten the longevity of the supercharger. It may be prudent to be very careful about what you change or place over the supercharger.

You're right. I remember seeing an interview with the head engineer saying that the center scoop is functional to blow cold air over the top of the blower. I'm sure a cover wouldn't help the cause in regards to heat.

I loved the looks of my Polished Kenne Bell supercharger installed in my SRT8 Furious Fuchsia 2010 Challenger........Top end was just awesome on the ride down the 1/4 mile too!

I shine up my whole car at the track and then under the hood...........I'm thinking how can I make that look good!
    Oh well it runs awesome!:D

If it's me you are posting to.......No catch cans needed..........so far!
The Hell Cat supercharger is fantastic, I love how it sounds and the mid track racing with it. I find it levels off. I'm sure eventually the tuning will change that. Just need to more R+D time.........March is just around the corner ;)

It is true. Nothing looks like a polished Kenne Bell. This is mine on my 2010 SRT8 Not FF. LOL.
