If my paint job was on a $20k econobox, I'd be ok with it, $70k Halo car, it sucks...It's hard to understand the paint complaints? Is it just a few complaints making a lot of noise or are there really that many? I'm happy with my paint on both Chargers.
Well then, you got lucky. The list of issues includes heavy orange-peel, inclusions, pits, runs. There was a white HC I passed on a year ago, about a month before I picked up the one I have. The paint was so bad on it that I was certain it had been wrecked and repainted by Macko.I've been restoring cars and judging cars at Carlisle and E'Town since the 90's. clickr, you seem like a glass-half-full kind of guy...it all depends on how much planning has gone into the paint shop. Vendors might be required to have the robots, and such on hand to have maybe a week turnaround? Very easily possible with today's technology and pre-planning. New facility could have been built before hand, ready to roll the cars in/out.
I am well aware of this and know our engines were built there as well and from what I see they do a pretty good job. This does still not make it right in my mind or make me happy. All manufacture will head south soon. You do know that Ford and GM have been producing cars in Mexico since the 1920's, don't you ?
