I noticed this shortly after picking up my cat last Jan but it seems to be getting worse so i stopped in at my dealer.. poor chrome job? need to polish my knob more? :D My dealer took photos of it to submit to Chrysler so hopefully ill be getting a new one... looks rusty in photo but its the copper base under the chrome.. i do not wear any jewelry and have used no cleaners of any kind inside the car.... anyone else having this issue? build 1090 built Dec 3rd 2014, 11,000 miles

Isn't that the one that comes exclusively with the brass monkey rims?

Clearly scratches. Have you let someone else polish your knob?

Wow, Abe, I am shocked that the enameled portion of the shifter knob is in that condition yet the leather portion looks pristine. Perhaps it is the sweat/oil from your hand that is causing a reaction in the metal surface area? Some people have a reactive body chemistry, as an example my mother in law cannot wear gold as it breaks her out in a rash wherever it touches her and turns the gold black, my first thought is that it could be something similar happening in your case. I do hope that FCA will replace it, though. Let us know what they determine.

Looks like your skin PH may be a bit acid? Looking at that I guess I may need to put some wax on it? Wonder what did that?
