How much are you guys getting charged to swap out the upper pulley and a tune? Locally, its $5000 apparently.

Considering the PCM / tune will cost us $1600 US (call it $2k CDN) - 3k seems extremely expensive for what others can do varying from 4-8 hrs from what I've seen / read.

Is this a place that has experience working on Hell Cat's and or Modern Mopars?

What is the break down for the Tuning?

    Linda :)

    Linda,

This is a newer shop in town (a couple of years old) but seems to be messing with the Mopar stuff. They've done a couple of Hellcats I believe. Here in Canada, they're pretty rare so not to many shops are going to have tons of experience with them.

    What shop?

I had the work on my Charger done at Dale Adams...the guy in the back wrenching had his own SRT and there were 5 other SRT's in there at the time getting varying work from cams, rears, all the way to a 426 S/C'ed Stroker Jeep. I was impressed with their knowledge...I ended up having a mis-ground cam that was "supposed" to be pre-checked in a motor prior to shipping and had I done it would have probably just tossed it in. Back then there was no adjustable timing set for the 6.1 (at least one that was even remotely cost feasible) and they came up with a way I thought was a decent solution. Everything worked great and wasn't too expensive all said and done for Intake / Cam / Heads / UD Pulley / Convertor Install

I'm not shocked at your quote, because depending what ET you are asking for, $5,000 could include many items and be a fair price.
Here is some info off of HHP's website, for the cost of Parts and their Tuning.

What tuning Product does your shop use?
If they have tuned Hell Cats, can they give you information for their work being track proven?

Also, Josh also does do tuning remotely.

For the quickest response, please call the shop 888-894-1115

For sales questions use extension 306 for Greg.
For tech questions use 302 for Bruce.
For tuning questions use 301 for Josh.

And here is a thread, that you may to read or post up a question.
Hellcat Tuning Q&A's with Josh (HHP) and AJ (HEMITUNER)

Oh yeah - "Ron's Build" used them. Can't really argue with his dyno or track results...so they seem to know what they are doing
