For those of you that already have your cats...

Does Valet Mode work with the red key?
Does Valet Mode really stop someone from burning up your tires?
Can you describe how restrictive it is to drive in that mode? (I'm Seeing a few folks say that they'll use it for break-in... which sounds like a good idea)

It starts in 2nd gear, has slow throttle response, very limited power (maybe 150 hp?), traction and stability controls stay locked on and I think it's speed limited, I but haven't tested that.

It prevents you from having any fun for sure. I can't imagine why someone would even try to do a burnout with this little power. It may do it, but it would be weak and boring....and TC would stop it pretty quickly.

If your valet is smart and can get in the trunk... Just disconnect the battery and reconnect and BAM... 707 tire smoking, ass kicking HP LOL...

I maybe wrong but I think valet mode is around 300HP.... Rather amusing when you think of it. 300HP is no slouch either but other limiting factors help too.

What's valet mode like on the M6? Same except for the lack of transmission restrictions? Any gears locked out? Rev limited to a lower rpm?

Valet mode is 300hp, and it locks out the performance pages app, and no launch control and so on. Also heard it restricts the motor to no more than 4,000rpm. So, it should be perfect for if the car is valet parked, or if it's dropped off for any service or maintenance, or if a friend or relative insists on getting to drive it!

    Good question.

Best take the valet... Measure the tread on the rear tire while he is watching. Show him the baseball bat in the trunk and tell him you will remeasure again when you return!
