I have read posts on this forum that say the black key limits the horse power to 300. My 2016 only limits my horse power to 500 in the performance page my only choices are 500 and 700 which is only available with the red key. Is this something new for 2016?

The black key limits the horsepower to 500. You have to set valet mode on your touchscreen which limits the horsepower to 300, details are in the owner's manual or you can do a search on this site. Hope this helps.

Here is a post I found:
Page 302 in the owners manual...

To enter Valet Mode press the “Valet” button on the
touchscreen and a popup screen will ask you if you
would like to enter Valet Mode, after selecting “Yes” you
will be asked to enter a 4 digit PIN code. The PIN code is
not set, so you are free to select any 4 digit numeric
combination that will be easy to remember.
While in Valet Mode the following vehicle configurations
are set and locked to prevent unauthorized modification:
    • Engine limited to the lowest power output state.
    • Transmission locks out access to first gear and upshifts
    earlier than normal.
    • Traction, Steering, and Suspension are set to their
    STREET settings.
    • Steering wheel paddle shifters are disabled.
    • The Drive Mode interface is not available. Pressing the
SRT button on the touchscreen will display the unlock
    keypad.
    • The ESC Off button is disabled.
    • The Launch Control button is disabled.

To exit Valet Mode you must enter the same 4 digit PIN
that was used to enter the mode. The unlock keypad can
be accessed by either pushing the SRT button on the
faceplate, or pressing the “Valet Mode Active – Press
Here to Exit” button on the touchscreen.

As mentioned, regardless of key, the touchscreen valet mode will limit to 300hp.

Of course this is ALL academic, because we all KNOW to never actually give our HC to a valet, right???

Of course, you're all just testing me to see if I'll bite or not...

No one would ever actually give their car to a Valet, or their spouse, or family member, or the dog....
