RS, or anybody, my "1st" dealer sent me an email, exactly 1 week after I sent his GM an email requesting my money back. The salesman was saying he would have to find a buyer for my car, before I could get a refund. I read, on here, if there was no vin, it should not be a problem, and I believe you guys. I told the GM that and I knew there was no vin. Now, a week later there's a vin(supposedly). Here's where I need a little help. The "vin" he gave me is: 2C3CDZ***834200. He said the 3 missing digits will be added when it's on the assembly line. Is the true, or, a big bunch of ????. Thanks

It seems a lot of vehicles are getting VIN's today.

As for the missing numbers I bet FH is right before the last 6 numbers. The one missing number could probably be anything.

That 'VIN' is invalid, even if the ***s were filled in as it needs to be 17 characters. And he's feeding you a line of BS -- the whole VIN number is generated at once. One of the digits is a 'check' digit that ensures the VIN is valid. Assuming the last 6 numbers are correct for a Hellcat Challenger, here is the whole VIN:

    2C3CDZC90FH834200

Give that back to him and see what he says... lol

Thanks guys. I didn't believe him any way. I know they were in business in 76, but, I guess that doesn't mean much now a days. He told me I ought to sell it and make some money on it! All I want is my money back.

Walk in with a copy of FCA call out of Dealers taking too many orders (etc).. Let em know the next step is local tv.. (They might love a story like that, right in their own back yard.)
If played right, bet you walk out with your deposit.
-Bad juju to walk in, tell sales manager he might wanna call EMS, cus there is about to be a disturbance

Thanks for the ideas and support. Is 800-423-6343 a good # to call and complain?

This is from the dealer......that was printed when it went to "D" status. Notice the complete VIN and VON.........tell your dealer that you would like the complete order sheet from Dealer Connect.......Anything less call BS....

Just added the BX printed VON so you can see the difference......BX there is no number in the VIN slot.......
