Wrapped my own hood this morning with avery supreme wrap film satin black. It was definitely a bit more difficult than most hoods I have wrapped due to all the curves of course.
Luckily the vents remove with some ease and the rubber weather strip in front of hood allows for an 1/8" lift gap which allows for a nice 1/4" tuck of material to be hidden clean.
Also note you only need 60" x 63" (approx 2yrds) to complete this wrap.
One major difficulty is removing all specs of dust from hood prior to wrap is near impossible.
Limited use of torch is needed.
(Satin & Matte finish vinyls can mar easy due to over heating)

Heres some pics, I personally couldn't find any charger phantom blacks with satin hoods so hope this helps those wondering how the black on black would look.

I think it looks bitchin! Sure wish the paint FU on my Phantom Black Challenger was on the hood, I'd wrap it an minute, and I'm still thinking about it after seeing your pics. NICE and very good job.

    Thanks all!
I think in 2 years i will redo it so removal is easier - at that point im tempted to do carbon fiber or black chrome!

Had mine done with 3 M product and there are small wrinkles around the center hood scoop. The installer is going to get some Avery material to try. He said the 3M material is thicker and more difficult to form. Comments?

BigDen its not the material 3m or avery will have same result, i have yet to post but glad u mention since after having mine wrapped for a few weeks i noticed this same problem and i tucked the material deep, i think it needs to be tucked 1/2 past the hood scoop lip and a separate inner layer to reinforce, not sure if its a fix but its frustrating, i think its the hood heat and pressure of the plastic sharp mold, i saw a buddies hellcat hood i met last weekend that got wrapped and saw the same issue occuring. Someone chime in if they have same problem and good proven solution before we re-wrap!!

I finally got most of the things I wanted done so I guess pictures are in order. I have had some time to get used to the hood wrap so I'm satisfied. Getting the wrap to lay perfectly flat is nearly impossible with all the curves. My installer is testing Avery products but he think very small blade marks will occur with all wraps due to the heat applied to get material to lay flat. I searched the Internet. Then started looking at websites and making a few calls. The installer I chose was located 100 miles from my home and I decided to use him because he had the best resume. He does work for several high end dealers across NC. Good enough for Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Teslar, Mercedes, Maybach, then good for me. He has done a couple cars for me and is priced fairly. Asking other car guys/dealers is also a good source. I used 3M on the hood and X-Pell for the clear bra. The clear bra really makes the flake in the paint stand out. Hope this helps.

Mine was done with 3M 1080. Perfect around the hood scoops but very very small blemishes along the front edge of the hood. Installer tells me the the 3M has tiny "stripes" of glue that can move when the wrap is heated. Not enough to trouble me and I plan to rewrap in 2 years image.jpg

Had mine done in CF and really like it (ordered a spare hood so original is in garage untouched); Mopar hood pins next.
