OK, so what is a Gen 2 version of the 8 speed transmission?

It's a very poor seller for Dodge. Seems that anything that is not pulling it's own weight is going away. It's a sweet car but I would never own it. Drive it Yes but not own.

Viper is my dream car, its just out of my price range at the moment. I think I like it a lot more than the vette is b/c there is a vette on every corner, but Vipers are rare.

The Viper will go the way of the Dodge Daytona or Plymouth Superbird. Over priced and under appreciated when they were new. In a few years, collectors will be paying two years salary for one.

    I've had 3
I've had 3 Vipers. Great car but one that requires your undivided attention every minute that you sit in it. If you get into a Viper and then into a Vette, you know immediately that the Viper is the better car based upon feel, lack of squeaks, etc. The Vette is "pretty" and has more glitz and bling. If you want a car based on the perfection of the machine and raw power, the Viper is the way to go. If not, the answer is apparent. On a day to day basis, I like the Hellcat better than the Viper. Hope they don't dump the Viper though. It's an icon!

Unfortunately, I would get used to seeing these kind of announcements.... The end is near.

I have had two Vipers, and an ACR on the way. Love my Hellcat, but trying to compare it to a Viper is ridiculous. Sure the Hellcat can keep up in a straight line, but after that its over...the Viper is a world class track car almost out of the box. Nothing handles like it for double the price. The ACR will soon be breaking track records all over the world. It will be a shame to see her go if it happens... but times change. I'll be in for another Gen V for '17 if it is going.. .someday we'll look back just like another poster said, like a superbird and daytona...

Heartbreaker. I loved the ones I've had the pleasure of owning.

The Hellcat has proven to be my favorite as the V8 rumble, supercharger whine, and overall over-the-top entertainment factor on the street has endeared her to me. She's also quite a bit more comfortable than when I drove my 09 ACR Hardcore. It was definitely made for tracking :D.

I would love to have one of the current ACR Extreme Aero's but won't give up my cat to fund one.

I also want a 1970 Roadrunner with a 440, a 1972 or 73 Datsun 240Z, a Hurst Olds 442 convertible (white with gold trim), a 1978 Smoky & The Bandit Trans Am, a 70 Hemi Cuda, a 70 Superbird...and...and...and some ice cream and some cookies and some soda, and a Johnny Jet, and a Big Lou, and some Viewmaster reels...and some pie...

Not surprised and well overdue in my opinion. Now more money for R&D on the Challenger, hopefully.

its sad. The Viper is an awesome car. Very different than the Hellcat but its special. I miss my Viper. I hope to get another one some day. I would rather it be brand new and not a used one. I did like the old school ones without all the bull on them.

Heck if I was going to pay six figures for a hellcat like some have, I certainly would have opted to buy a viper instead. So weird that the hellcats sold for viper or zo6 money.
