Looking to drag my 2016 Challenger HC. We have several strips both 1/8 and 1/4 mi. What street legal tires hook the best in the group's opinion?

    Thanks in advance

    Or Micky Thompson Drag Radials.

Just know you can easily twist the stock drive shaft off. It's recommended if you're going to race with drag radials then update the shaft. I have.

The record holding cars are using Mickey Thompson SS DR
Auto cars are getting 1.4, 1.5x 60fts using them....

I use nittos but you better get a drive shaft to be safe.

I have Nitto's 555r 305's.....and have noticed guys with Mickey Thompsons seem to do better....when i had to feather my launch they were able to just floor it off the line....im a drag racing beginner, but just watching them it seemed much easier.....Nitto's also seem to have an issue when it comes to hot lapping....you have to decrease your burnout it seems....i notice each lap becomes increasingly difficult to launch when doing the exact same burnout procedure(someone here mentioned Nitto's gel when they get too hot...i floor it to 3rd gear as fast as possible and slowly count to 5 for my burnout)....i will be purchasing MT's next time.....while some get 10.8's with Nitto's the king of the track i know (Stellashc) uses MT's and gets 10.6's

I've heard nittos are best for the street of the drag radials if u dont plan on swapping wheels at the track. No personal experience tho.

Nittos require a burnout but will last longer and be more street friendly. Stella hc is running slicks not drag radials ti get the 10.6.

i believe he got close to 10.6 with street MT DR's, and switched to his slicks to get another .5 off his time....not sure if he's even at 10.5something with his slicks

ive seen him do 10.8 or 10.7 with his MT's

i like my nitto's for the street....thats why i bought them....2x tread life

i put my nitto's at 18lbs....some have suggested raising my pressure to 24lbs to improve my times.....Ill be trying to get into the 10's again in the Spring

    I have Nitto NT05R's 315/35/20 best 60' was a 1.604
    I now run Mickey Thompson Street R's 305/45/18 best 60' was 1.490
I run the Nittos on the street but will buy MT's from now on less burn out and more consistent IMO

If you take this statement literally then there is only one tire that I can suggest. 305/45R18 Mickey Thompson ET Street "R". It "IS" Street Legal and it hooks like a MoFo. I plan on pairing that tire with the 3.09 Differential upgrade. Since I do not plan on increasing my power with Mods.

Hoosier DOT Drag Radials are sold as a race track only tire. So, I would not suggest that.
