With dealers not getting any new allocations right now, and dealer stock orders being on hold, what would happen if a dealer originally had 2 allocations, sold one (which is supposedly in transit) but never ordered the second allocation?
Would it go to VON quickly since it is an existing allocation? Or would it get immediately processed when the dealers are released?

Thoughts on anything I might not be considering?

No way a dealer would NOT have ordered the second one, so we can just toss that out.

Dealers aren't always best at knowing their products but they know the earning potential of these at least.

I know a dealer or two that " Banks" allocations. They keep them incase a broker wants to give them big bucks or just don't want any more inventory. So I believe they are out there. I doubt you will get one without giving up a huge kicker.

    But if I did.....
Where would I stand on getting to VIN with the rearrangement of the allocations?

Unused allocations get rebalanced regionally, unless the regional rep is in cahoots with said dealership to preserve their allocation.

    what he said^^^^^^^

Unused allocations are part of that "balance out" period that follows after the allocation week. If he had an unused allocation and he is saying he has one that he could use for you right now...I think he's lying.

Is there ANY way at all to confirm allocation status?

What exactly should I get in writing?

I third this. Not used, then they get shuffled to where they will. Chrysler isn't going to sit around and wait for a dealer to decide when they will take a car, especially one like this.
Unless you know someone at the dealer or they are willing to show you it on their order screen (fat chance), there is no way.

To absolutely confirm an allocation, it will show it in DealerConnect. Have the order guy show you that to confirm an allocation.

Ok I had him show me his order screen. He had no problem showing me since he "knew" he had one. However it wasnt there. He seemed shocked and even went to alot of dealer connect pages to find it. Also made some phone calls trying to figure it out. He swears it was showing on Saturday.
The screen did show 4 allocations in the march column but we know those are on hold.
Oh well. It was worth a try. They did seem fairly apologetic. I did place an order for MSRP and the written promise to get their first allocation and refundable until D1.
Cost 500 to lock it down. Which isn't bad. I went prepared to go much larger for an allocation.

At least I can be somewhat happier that people who ordered long before me will be getting their's instead of opportunistic dealers.

I think that is a good sign there and shows dealer legitimacy. Other dealers would have just tossed you around with out a courtesy reach around.
