What do are some of you guys/gals using for floor mats?

Here are my options so far...
    • Use the OE floor mats...
      • I like the OE mats and I'm thinking I can use these daily and replace them as necessary. Does anyone know the part numbers for the set (fronts and rears)
    • Get a set of Weathertech mats
      • I've used these in the past. They are nice mats but my what I don't like is that a) I don't think they cover enough. The sides should be higher, the should come up over the rocker to the sill and they should cover the dead pedal. Also, in the winters we have a lot of sand and slush and it just sits there grinding into my fine corinthian leather shoes.
    • Get a set of Lloyd Mats Ulte or Luxe
      • I've had these in the past as well and they are probably my number one choice right now if I go to an aftermarket mat. They fit well (usually same or a little better than OE), nice and thick, hold sand and crap.
Did I miss any good options that are out there. I just can't make up my darn mind.

For now I took a cheap door mat, traced the drivers mat with a larger perimeter and cut it out. When nasty or doing service work I'll just drop it in the car over the OE mat (it's think with a rubber backing) and remove it later....

I had WeatherTech mats before the car was built. Once I took delivery of the car, the OE mats came out and WT mats went in. Up here in Cleveland, we know how bad the carpeting can get. After only having the car a couple weeks, the amount of dirt already on the WT mats reassured me it was the right choice. The OE mats have been bagged and placed in storage.

In the past I've found that too much stuff gets under the weather techs. The dead pedal is not covered and the sides are not high enough. Just my honest .02 which is why I'm looking for something better.

I may end up with a set of those or the Lloyds if I can't find anything better.

I need Weathertech to design an extreme OCD version of their mat.

Are you using the Weathertech Digital Fit mats. They are what I've been using since they came out a couple years ago.
If you are using the original Weathertech floor mats that are flat, then that's the issue.
The Digital Fit version goes up more around the sides and rocker panels and usually covers half the dead pedal.
I also carry an all black bath towel in my cars, so on days that it rains I lay that over top of the floor mats so it absorbs the wet off
my shoes and protects the carpeting even further.

I agree. I even noticed that it should cover more of the dead pedal, but it's certainly an improvement over OE mats. I've never heard of Lloyds before this thread.

Yes, the digital fit. I never had any use for the original Weathertech mats. I had a set or two of those early on and never liked them.

The towels is a good idea but I can think of many ways to make the Weathertechs the be all, end all extreme weather mat. Sure they will cost more but I'd pay it.

Again, just my honest .02. I'm not all that impressed with the digital fit weather tech stuff. In fact I've always been disappointed with them which is why I'm asking about alternatives.

    Thanks.

Yep that was the route I took as well. March is sloppy here in Michigan.

I have the WeatherTech's and love them. You can't go wrong, especially in this terrible weather we have been having!

I agree! Let's write to the WeatherTech guys and tell them we want an OCD version. They stay in my car 10 months out of the year. Don't like carpet mats getting cruddy. o_O

I was able to keep the plastic the original mats came in so I left them in it.
