What do the drag strips do when you rip off a low 11 pass?

I see a lot of threads where folks speak to running 11.3 down to 10.8s. How do you guys get to do this and not get tossed?

Local strip here says 11.46 and lower you have to have a cage. Busting that with no cage is an instant invitation to the exit gate.

Those are the old NHRA rules, and if they try to say that you can tell them to go pound sand and read their rule books. NHRA changed it a couple years ago that if your FACTORY car comes capable of doing 10's in the 1/4 then NHRA deems teh car strong and safe enough to not need a cage. Now if you roll up there non-stock and run 8's, maybe even kiss 9's, you may have an issue. But no one is there yet so who knows. But as for running 10s with no cage you are clear

One of my local tracks says you need a fire jacket for anything under 11.5. That's about all I heard of and all I would really worry about unless you start doing extensive modding.

NHRA rules but the track could impose their own rules after all it is their track and insurance issues.

Ok... my track Southwest International Raceway (SIR) in Tucson is an IHRA track. Found this language in an IHRA rules update.. I believe it would allow the Hellcat to run...

Lapeer drag way in Michigan kicked us off after two runs. Anything below a 11.5 and you need a cage. I hear Milan drag is the same way unless you do a track renal day. Total b.s.

I'm certain if you get your own insurance and sign a waiver, they would be happy. They may just have restrictive and possibly less expensive insurance. Just running their business, I guess.
