Ok, let's cut to the chase! How do we not get caught doing what we bought these things for do in the first place...to go fast!!? I am interested in finding the best Radar Detector I can get. I'm sure there are a few different opinions out there, so I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Thanks in advance for helping me avoid getting anymore Police Officer's autographs!! I suggest you do a thorough research on the web about them as there is a lot to choose from, a lot at useless and in my opinion, the detector could be just as good or just as bad as the person behind the wheel. Most people that buy them to get away with tickets and have no clue how they work often get more tickets with the detector than without.

First, a radar is useless against laser so if your local PD uses a lot of laser you may want to reconsider, depends on what is going on in your local area.

If your research turns you to the V1, send me a PM I could sell mine as I have too many detectors. My V1 also has savvy and V1 connection for iPhone

V1 hands down, expensive but worth every penny. Plus they will sell you updates as they make them, versus having to replace it.

I've used a V1 for the last 20 years and it's saved my butt many, many times.

I appreciate that! I don't speed all the time, but I do like to be aware of where the cops are, or like to frequent with their cameras! Need to find out about what they use here! Thank you for the info! Jim

V1, hands down. I have a K 40 on my Porsche that I paid nearly 4X more for and I'll take the Valentine 1 over it any day of the week. I tried a V1 in my HC today with the stealth unit. Since they relocated the 12v outlet into the upper part of the passenger footwell, it's a little more awkward than previous applications, but still workable.

And where can we order one of those? Doubt they are on Amazon... lol

PS. Thanks for serving. I would think the addition of a blue light on your hellcats's dash would give any other would-be speeders a moment of pause...

My parents were thoughtful and got me an Escort Passport Max for Christmas. It's worked well so far, and since it has GPS, it remembers areas that send a false alert. Pass by the same place 3 times with it going off and it marks it as false and silences it in the future (still visible). Can also manually mute, or force it to mark it as bad. Also gives you your current speed, helps to know that your speedometer is accurate (mine is dead on).

Some will say Max or 9500, some will say V1. Can't go wrong with either one IMO.

I have a very trusted friend whom recommends the Escort Solo 3 Wireless. I have another SRT, and I would like to be able to go between the two quickly and easily if I needed to. So I think that's what I'm going to do. Thanks for the input Cats!! Jim in Minneapolis

I have the Redline and the Escort Max2. The range of the Redline is by far the best of all of the detectors I have ran for the last few years. The Max2 is good but when comparing them side by side the redline is more accurate especially for laser. It is not always true a ticket is guaranteed if your speeding and laser goes off. Now the false positives do suck with the redline but the range is impressive. Now the bluetooth and GPS are nice on the Max2. I really like that with all of the interstate travel I do that others are running it also, so I get warnings a mile away if a cop is spotted or there is active radar. I am going to order the bluetooth cord for my Redline so I get a little more protection. If you travel where they are illegal the Redline is magnesium cased and doesn't emit a detectable signal.
