As the title states, when and why is it needed. Is it only for use with your 5" intake or would someone see benefits on a stock car?

IAT harness modifies the 5v signal to measure 1.4 degrees cooler between 65-70 degrees, it's a linear adjustment, it was put in place to help with the IAT over temp code customers were receiving in extremely hot environments, it is not sold separate it's supplied free when you purchase our intake.

Did anyone show a performance gain at the track with this intake and a tune ?

I am not a tuning expert by any means, but does that make the car run leaner or richer? Any reason why it is not sold seperate?

makes it run a tad richer, we choose not to sell it separate, mainly due to it's hard enough keeping them in stock for our intakes.

I would honestly say the average person would only see a 5-10 whp gain from just the harness by itself under ideal conditions, however it was never developed for such, it was developed for customers in very hot environments to help eliminate cel codes. Your honestly not going to see a enough gain out of 5-10whp at the track.

I know this feed is a little old, but I was wondering where the IAT harness is installed actually. I kept looking over and over and couldn't wrap my finger around it. I really want to throw it on there when the weather starts to heat up in the future. Thank you for your time.

By any chance, do you have to have an unlocked pcm to put the iat harness on? I am currently in the progress of getting mine unlocked soon, but in the meantime was wondering if I can install the harness with a stock pcm. Thank you.
