I told this story in another thread (Searching for Black A8)...but have an update and am really interested in what you think happened?

In December, I placed an order with my local dealer (Houston, TX) for a black A8. We agreed upon MSRP, and I put down a $5K deposit. I received a VON and didn't hear anything for a few months. Then, the salesperson emailed me my VIN. A couple of weeks later, the GM called asking if I would switch to a manual, since that's the only way I would get my Hellcat. I explained that I already had a VIN, but he said that was a mistake.

So, today, when searching for a black A8, I see the VIN the dealer gave me (via the search on Dodge)! I click on the window sticker, and not only is the VIN mine, but it also has the last 4 of my VON! It shows the car in transit.

So, what happened here? My guess is that they got a better offer and gave my car away? But the VON is the one I rec'd.

Very interested in your thoughts...thank you!

Window sticker probably has your name on it.

Dealership made a deal with you. Then later realized they left 10 to 15k on the table with adm......so they screwed you.

    Am i wrong?

Yeah...I'm pretty sure that's what happened...the good news is that I have it in writing...not that it means I'll get that car...but I don't mind putting the lawyers to work! :)

Hope you and your lawyer stick it to that shister dealer !! Unbelievable.

Probably would be good for you to alert the forum as to which dealer in Houston did this.

Sounds like the dealer is trying to screw you big time, I hope you are able to put the screws to him big time. I hope you can splash his name all over so people see what a chit he is.

I would also get the ball rolling before the car shows up to the dealer because if it get transferred in someone's name. It's probably as good as gone.

Houston of all places....yeah sounds like you are being jerked around. Some lucky few were able to get MSRP in Houston, other than that you are going to pay ADMs out the a$$ in H-town. There are just too many self indulgent wieners with too much bloody money!

Just buy a 1967 Mustang fastback.:)

I would go back into the dealer with all of your paperwork and the info on the status of your car including the printed out sticker. I would have a conversation with the manager/owner and see if you can take delivery of the car.

I worried about that when I got my car but my dealer came thru. I was told at the time he could have got over 10k more to sell it to a broker.

At least if you don't get this car maybe they will discount a MY16 for you.

I am not a fan of the lawyers. They will burn up your cash fast and the dealer probably has a better lawyer firm and they can write it off as a business expense.

Is the car an A8 or M6 now on the window sticker?
