Placed my order last month and got my VON. Was contacted by another dealership nearby and told he has one allocated and should arrive 4-6 weeks from now. Prior to giving him a deposit,I checked my VON status with Dodge and they said no new updates. So I gave him a deposit as well in hopes of receiving my car when he said that I would receive it. When I asked for the Vin, he said he only had a Von at the moment...red flag that this vehicle will take way more time than 4-6 weeks! He provided me with the VON.

Once I received the VON, I contacted Dodge with the VON and was told the same as I was told regarding my original VON. The rep then told me he was able to check my info and saw I now have two VON's in the system. I explained the situation to him and asked for his suggestion. He said it looked like my original deal would hit as a VIN first, but obviously could not guarantee that.

The 1st dealer is about two hours from my home but is a much smaller dealership and only had one car ahead of me when I ordered. But, I did pay about a grand over MSRP which doesn't really bother me.

2nd dealership is much closer to my home but is much bigger. They are cranking out HC's though. This one is at MSRP. Everything was the same about this car except it does not have the red belts I ordered in the other car.

So what would you do??? See which turns into a VIN, cancel one or the other???

Also, you think Dodge will frown upon the fact that I have two VON's?

    Thanx!

I think there are a few out there that have more than one VON. The allocation process is frustrating and difficult to understand. If you are not held to a lost deposit, I think you should keep both. Most dealers have others in line and they can change the build before it gets to D1. My dealer had that happen with an order, the first one came in first so he just cancelled that order so his next allocation would move up. I don't know how well it worked, but he wasn't out anything aside from a lost sale because it wasn't built before the other one.:)

Tell the dealers first one in gets the sale.

First Car to be assigned a VIN gets the sale, the other gets cancelled and your deposit returned. That dealer can find another buyer. I wouldn't worry one bit about what Dodge thinks of having 2 VONs. The second car will sell within 48 hours of hitting a dealer's lot!

I agree with the others ... keep them both, and let both dealerships know that the first one to get a VIN is the winner. Should be no problem for either of them, because it is not like they will not sell the car when it arrives ...too many people looking for a Hellcat for that to happen if they are selling it for a fair price.

Hollywood -Agree with what others said, keep both VON's. And while your at it get the one VON updated to add the red seat belts if you want them. Until it goes D or d1 status, you can change add options. I wouldn't think red seat belts would be a show stopper to add just that option.

I know the feeling. seems they come in about one day after RS tells you it will show up. Like the truck drivers always take an extra day or something. Mine was coming in on a Monday showed up early on a Wed. Ask Tammie hers was a day or so late too.

Keep both VONS alive. If can afford, buy both; flip one. If not affordable, giv the Vin to another fourm member.

I have to call BS on that one. He may think it won't get picked up if he adds the red seat belts. I would again ask the dealer to call their Regional Rep and ask him if there is a supply issue with red seat belts. Make sure you're talking to Sales Manager or the GM if it wasn't one of those 2 that told you they couldn't make the change.

You could also call/live chat with SRT and see what they say. It's never too late until it goes D or D1....unless some of the story is missing.
