I put drag radials on my 15 SRT and they rubbed on the back inner of the wheel tub. I pretty much hacked the tub with a pair of scissors' and regretted it ever since. Then I heard about this mod but never seen a post on it, so here goes.

Basically the tub is being pulled forward into the tire so you have to push it back forcing it to take a wider arc. Pull the plastic push pin out, cut off lip, push the tub way back exposing mounting hole, mark hole carefully, cut new hole near edge of tub, reinstall push pin. Wala!

Be sure and relocate your SHOCK control wires out of the way so they don't rub on your wheels. They can be pushed to the center of the car and tie wrapped etc. In some cases they can be slid in the existing holders with some effort.

Very Good Thx for sharing Dragrcr! I take it it pushes the rear corner back and in. How much extra clearance does it appear to provide?

Well, I just automatically did this mod when I got my Hellcat, based on my experience with my 15 SRT 392. In that car it seemed the tub was being pulled up into the tire. I guess you can try to do without it and if your tires rub then you can do this as needed. Maybe the Hellcat wheel tub is different, but I doubt it.

For me, it's easy to do, so I just did it. Since I was in there cleaning, changing the sway bar links and re-arranging my shock wires.

So again, how much clearance provided?

"Enough" clearance is provided with my tire and rim on this day, but maybe not tomorrow. I am not sure what you are getting at. Do you really think I can get a ruler in there? Even if I can do you think you will punch your holes in exactly the same place as I did or that your wheel tubs are the exact same as mine? I am 100% sure it gives MORE clearance. So if you need to, then by all means do this!

OK, I looked in there and I have a LOT of clearance. So I suggest you only do this mod if needed. I am not sure but I might have had enough clearance before the mod. I personally did it for good measure as I have said before.

    Sorry for being an A-Hole.

.I am thinking that maybe the 16's are different or perhaps the Hellcat is different. But my tires definitely rubbed on my 15 SRT 392 even when it was on the ground. It was on the ground when I reached in there with scissors and did the hack that I so regretted.

    Good luck.

    Thanks again!!
