Has anyone had their factory rear wheels widened to 11 inches? I am looking at purchasing 2 new Brass Monkey wheels and having this done to keep the factory look and still run 315/35r20 tires. I have found 2 places that may be able to do this - weldcraftwheels.com and ericvaughnmachine.com - any thoughts?

I personally would just buy 2 forged rims that are already 11" This amount of torque on a widened wheel is sketchy to me especially when u start adding power

They claim when professionally welded they will hold up as well as the original, if not stronger at the weld.

Just sent my rear wheels ( billet spec.) to Eric Vaughn last week to get widened to 11", he is a little more $ but way better job, all computer cut& welded, he adds a new hoop to the back side, where weldcraft adds in a 1" piece so you have 2 weld joints

Search. It has been done. There are issues with clearance even behind the plastic liner. One member had a triangle section cut out of the frame to gain some room. Let me search for the thread I'm thinking of.

You should be able to widen the wheels and use 305/35's no problem. They fit stock. Tire controls hitting the inner liner.

Besides we are using a 10.5" wheel with a 27 mm backset and Nitto 315/35's and clearing!

Is it possible to find a company that can make the exact factory wheel with the exact specs we need to fit a 315 DR tire? Also with out costing a fortune lol

So you are increasing the backspacing by about 4/5" and having the rim stick out 1/5" closer to the fender lip with 315's and don't have an issue at all with rubbing anywhere? This is good info! I'm no machinist but a call to Eric Vaughn to see if his 1" widing of our wheels with a .2" thick spacer welded to the inside of the rim contact patch would give the same config.

For those that want to use this on the street daily, and don't want mismatched wheels.

You can ad 1" to the stock wheel and it will clear the inside making the wheel a 20x10.5 with 30mm offset but if you go 1.5" you would need to run a 1/2" wheel spacer and it would push your wheel out 1/2". If you are going to have a stock rear set widened I would only go 1" wider.
