Just curious if anyone here will part with their HELLCAT for the new latest greatest most incredible totally awesome jaw dropping feeling fuzzy and so good......etc. 2017 CAMARO ZL1. And yeah I am going over board but if you just start reading the "SO CALLED CAR JOURNALISTS" expert evaluation maybe they will convince you to jump ship.

    The Motor Trend comments:
The old ZL1 was good for a 3.9-second sprint to 60 mph at a 12.2-second quarter mile at 116.6 mph on our test track, and we expect this lighter, more powerful car to bring those times down and that trap speed up. The old car’s 0.99 average sustained g and 24.0-second figure-eight lap time at 0.85 average g are both likely to bested, as well. The last ZL1’s 100-foot 60-to-zero stopping distance will be tough to beat, but that will probably fall, too. Given that old ZL1 was nipping at the heels of the 707-hp Dodge ChallengerHellcat on the dragstrip, this new car will likely outrun the Hellcat just as easily as it runs circles around the big coupe. Ford, if it does another Mustang GT500, will have a hell of a fight on its hands.

I ain't parting with my HELLCAT'S cause the CAMARO just doesn't have the HELLCAT look, name, feel and the list goes on. So for all the on the fence jump the fence cause either your a MOPAR die hard or u ain't.

And even my DOGS agree MOPAR all the way.

I wouldn't trade in my HC but I've been planning on buying when they come out just to add to the collection

    I'm trading for sure o_O

In all seriousness, it looks like a cool car but I'm holding out for the new Prius.

Yeah that's tempting for me as well. Would have to really taste it though and just not sure the look gets me. But good response Big Mike Dallas.

I wouldn't mind having a 2017 gt500 and 2017 zl1 to go next to my Hellcat because at the end of the day I like the car not the brand. I got the OK from the wife last night to get the zl1 when they come out as long as I get it automatic so she can drive it to, I was like okay you got a deal lol that 10speed doe

Looks pretty cool to me, can't wait to see the test results. I'm not against other car makers producing awesome cars.

Well I can tell you I'm not selling the Cat for a Chevy or a Ford not that I'm apposed to them coming out with a new an improved version... If they do I still think FCA will turn up the wick on the HC before production ends.Time will tell.;)

The new Camaro won't nip at the heels of a Charger Hellcat unless they add 2 more doors and make it comfortable.

The performance difference will most likely be minimum at best. 2/10 th of second in the 1/4 is not enough to sell any car IMO, or A8 to A10 transmission.

There actually have always been a few cars nipping at the Hellcat's heels-just find a Shelby pilot, Caddy pilot, or any supercharged Chev who has added a pulley and a "chip" (lol I am old school) and you will find your hands full. Of course, that is at the expense of their warranty to keep pace with you.

And of course once you math their mods it's 'hasta la bye-bye.

Still there is no free lunch here for an extra 35-50 hp to even mitigate it without getting into the brain and threatening the warranty. No intake, no exhaust (the least warranty threatening) stuff. The only thing out there really is the CF driveshaft.

The extra HP and cut weight may be good for 3 or 4/10, but that will make it about dead even at best. The Hellcat is an 11 second car or better.

The ZL1, like the Vette, is about the HANDLING and this is what the big difference is. It's a Vette with more room and back seats and that's a GREAT idea. But it's still a hugely uncomfortable ride and has none of the daily driver qualities that makes a Charger Hellcat such a dream come true.

Real alternatives to a Charger Hellcat are the CT-V and M5.

I wouldn't trade my hellcat for all of the gold in Fort Knox. I love my cat and I would only upgrade to another trim model if it came out. Keeping my cat of course
