So with the car being ordered 1/12/15 and I'm still in D status. My projected build date has jumped from Memorial Day week to mid June to now at the end of July. WTF is going on!!!?? The nice person at SRT said that they are committed to building every one that is ordered and because I have a 2015 VIN I'm going to get a 2015. She also said that they just got a bunch of A8 transmissions in and will be getting caught up as soon as possible. I said ya but by the time it is built and delivered 2015 will almost be over and the 2016's will be being built. She just repeated that I would be receiving a 2015 and that the build date could jump up. I wish they would have just told me that I wasn't going to get my car until late September because then I wouldn't have ever gotten on this roller coaster of a ride. I'm going back to my Magnum project and trying to forget about the fuc#ing cat. Thanks for letting me rant.

Yes, it is worth the wait. After you get your HC and see what an amazing car it is, all the frustration and stress will fade away. We all must jump through hoops with 1st year models (did it with my GT500 too) but in the end i didn't regret it one bit. Hang in there.

If it's any condolence, I found most of the estimates stated where on the safe side & things happened quicker than expected. A 6 to 7 month waiting period seems to be about the norm for this car. And some poor buggers who ordered last summer haven't seen a VIN yet. Hang in there, it will pay off...

From those of us in VON HELL be happy you have a VIN. 12 Jan was a long time ago. Haven't seen daylight in months.

Still getting jerked around on allocations.

So you are saying that the estimated date that SRT tells us tends to come sooner? That's good news but still this is crazy. I appreciate all the support I guess that's what I needed. Either way I'm taking my mind off of it by doing my original spring upgrade plan to the Magnum.

Yep, it can change. Originally, SRT said week of 4/27 for build...then said week of June 22.....then said week of 5/25. Built on 5/25 and coming tomorrow.

That's good news. I'm not calling them anymore. It's just too nerve racking and stressful. The past 2 weeks it's been pushed back a month. I'll let my dealer call me.

Guys it just the mafia mentality of these dealerships that are getting in the way of the consumer...its a supply and demand issue...this was supposed to be a very low build car..period..the dealerships bought all them allocations cause they knew this was the chance to cash in..u have dealerships buying from other dealerships w/ a markup and still makin money..not good for the consumer..but i feel all of u in von status will get your cats!!!..and they are worth the wait!!!..

The D status does seem to be the one date that varies a lot & hurts the worst (almost;))... I'd say you have a hard order with an even harder to pin down build date... But it will beat playing this game again next year...

IMO: I really don't think next year is going to be any easier to order than this year. Might be worse if they're still the only trick pony in town...

on 1-12-15 you could have found one for close to msrp if you did a search of the whole country....once the A8's start coming out again i recommend keeping your order, but at the same time put the effort into finding one on your own........dont rely on your order

on 1-3-15 i found mine sitting on a showroom in MI----you may have found one just sitting waiting for you too back then.
