Way back in 2001, few could have predicted that the movie The Fast and The Furious would blossom into what it is today. What started as a single movie has grown into one of the world’s most popular and profitable franchises, and the Furious series’ impact on car culture can’t be understated.

That’s why this 1993 Toyota Supra, an original stunt car used in filming the first Furious movie and that starred in that installment’s final drag-race scene, is expected to fetch $200,000 at the Indianapolis Mecum auction in the second week of May.

The stunt car is a runner, with the desirable 3.0-liter 2JZ-GE inline-six and a five-speed stick, although the twin Holley Performance nitrous bottles visible through the rear hatch aren’t plumbed into the engine. Everything else is instantly recognizable: the Bomex body kit, the huge APR rear wing, the Dazz wheels, and those signature wild Modern Image graphics.

Since this was a stunt car used for exterior driving shots, the drivetrain is intact, but the interior is positively utilitarian: Aside from the upgraded racing seats, the Sparco steering wheel, and the full roll cage and fuel cell, there isn’t much going on inside. The gauges are straightforward, the door panels are sheetmetal, and the upholstery is mostly gone.

The estimated hammer price of $200,000 is mighty high for a 22-year-old Supra, no doubt. But this thing has everything going for it: It’s not just an actual film car used in shooting the movie, it’s arguably the single most recognizable car from the entire Furious franchise. It’s the car that introduced a generation of moviegoers to Paul Walker, the beloved star whose tragic death gave Furious 7 a somber tone.

The Indianapolis auction runs May 12–17, and we don’t doubt that this car will fetch some major bidding action.

Looks like a rat under the hood. For that kind of dough clean it up, fix the hack wiring, put the fuse/relay block cover on and get a freaking Toyota battery in there LOL. Some sucker will buy it.

Oh ya, did I mention that car is ugly too LOL...

HA! The desirable is the GTE (turbo), the non-turbo have a distributor which takes up a lot of space for a turbo.

The car, along with the franchise, is complete trash. I'm scratching my head as to what "impact" it has had on "car culture?" None from my side of the fence.

Supras are cool cars, if they are turbo models with a 6 speed. Other than that? You have a slow turd of a car that looks like a fast one and everyone in a Civic that outruns you makes you look like that much more of a dumbs. But then to pay upwards of the projected $200k+/- for said non-turbo turd??? Definition of imbecile.
