I've been curious. Since drag racing is about a very carefully prepared car on a prepared surface with often drag-use-only (by the user) tires, why not just use a 300 nitrous shot and call'er done? So simple to pick up 300 more hp while leaving the car relatively unmolested otherwise. If you engage the nitrous higher up in the RPM band only, the peak torque would not be dramatically different, and the car is not really different from normal driving mode the rest of the time.

In fact, I have a new invention I just, never mind. I may have to patent this one.
