I'm looking at a Hellcat, but it has a lot of engine noise. I've got two sound clips. See if you can figure out the noise. If you turn up the volume, you can hear the noise pretty well.

You need to have this car inspected by a Dodge Dealer BEFORE you buy it if at all.

Problem 2 sounds like something loose in the engine, but you are in the driver's seat.

You need to be able to differentiate between the engine and the SC. A good tech should be able to do this.

Might help to hear the sounds with the hood up and you standing in front of the car over the engine at the RPMs in Prob2.

If it were me, I'd walk away.

First clip almost sounds like exhaust rattling....in the second that SC or Engine doesn't sound right....now if they warranty it completely so that when (not if) it goes they'll replace it outright with a new HC motor no questions asked, no conditions needed.....well.....

Absent a full warranty with no questions asked, 100% covered on EVERYTHING......

Dealer or private? Ask about it see what they say i always enjoy hearing some bs story on hownits fine or that's how its supposed to be.

It's hard to say what it is videos always make it hard to tell. My blower has a loudish sorta idle whine hasn't changed sense i got it.

When in doubt walk away, Unless its cheap

Actually, it's a 2015 Chrysler 300 with complete 2020 Hellcat goodies that came out of a wrecked HC with 12,000 miles on it. retrofitted with gauges, shifter, even the horsepower and torque screen, and all. It has all the goodies for $16,000. Man, if it's only the SC bearings, that would be a steal!!! There are several around Los Angeles doing this, and they actually pass the smog—can you believe it?!! ANYWAY, THANKS TO ALL for helping. I won't ask y'all anymore about this stuff, I know it's hard to diagnose from your chair.
