Add Revelco to the neutral pull cover, and I think you’ve put a serious dent in theft efforts.

A battery operated hidden GPS tracker with geofencing and LOUD cell phone alerts is another thing to consider (subscription required).

Hey TailHappy? Just curious… Have you received any direct reports of the pull cover preventing a theft?

      Love mine, just curious… 🤠

That's a tracker, right? That won't prevent theft unless I missed something

A good read on using AirTag as a car tracker:

I prefer, and went with Ameriloc. Obviously more expensive and requires a subscription,:

Add Revelco for some serious protection:

      Nice security setup! 👍

Mine is very similar. And Revelco is King! 🕺

You might consider this (monthly subscription required, but pretty inexpensive). Better yet, very portable.

And Ameriloc customer service is stellar.

They’ve even contacted me out of the blue when my tracker hasn’t hit their servers in awhile (because my 2020 Scat Wide Body is a garage queen, and I might go months without using it).

They just wanted to know if all is well.

      Can’t beat that! 🤠

From a $100 Ravelco DIY attempt on sports mobile forum.com

I just disassembled a cheap $100 ravelco that I bought online.

It appears it was manufactured incorrectly, and the cap did not match the receiver. (The codes also don't match on either)
I’ve been multi-forum searching all morning on DIY $100 Revelco.

And I DO see a number of people buying them.

In every case, it pretty much stops there. No post purchase positive reviews or installs (except as indicated above).

There are a number of DIY discussions on $100 Ravelco installs…. But they invariably evolve into back and forth product modifications, physical works arounds, and such.

      My take?

Either install a cheap well hidden $25 kill switch, or go with a certified Ravelco install (around $500, give or take).

      My setup:

      Ravelco (installed by Ravelco)

Ameriloc rechargeable portable GPS with cell phone alerts and geofencing)

AMERICALOC GL300 GPS Tracker MXW https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0197FV8YU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

      Passive entry disabled

      Two Clubs (steering, and brake/steering)

Home faraday box, and mobile pouch

Neutral pull cover with pinned security torx screws.

      Always park theft-strategically

      Garage door rope pull disabled

      Garage interior monitoring/video/alerts

Challenger usually blocked in by another car

Not al systems used all the time, depends on circumstances.

Then again, my 2020 only has 1700 miles, and 400 of those was traveling to get Ravelco installed.

In extreme cases, I might pull a fuse and/or relay. The only time I did that was on a motel lot overnight awaiting Ravelco

You can’t do everything, but you can do everything you can do! 🤗

Also helps to be security minded where you park and the way you park. Too many owners here and elsewhere like to park far away from other cars to avoid getting door-dinged, but the HUGE downside is how inviting that "south-forty" parking is for a car thief. I back into parking spaces until my rear wheels hit the curb-stop and I set the parking brake. I choose spaces that are near shops and pedestrian foot traffic and have at least one side that borders a landscaping island. I also try to choose spaces that make it difficult for a tow truck to maneuver in front of my cat or at least slow down the getaway which hopefully makes thieves target another opportunity.

I’m about 45 miles west of St. Louis.

My Chicago Ravelco franchise owner/installer met me midway at a motel in Bloomington, Illinois. Great and knowledgeable guy! 👍

I was worried about the 2020 SPWB on the motel lot the night before, but I took every security precaution I could. And my room was directly over the car. Among other things, I had a portable GPS to cell phone activator in place.

With motel approval, the installer met me at 10 AM the next morning. Perfectly fine day, and work was done well away from the main entrance. I was careful to explain to the motel manager that this was a “clean electronic install.” No fluids, parts dismantled, etc.

Drove away about 1 PM, with a big smile.

About a 300 mile round trip, and enjoyed every mile.

Except those nuts on I-55 that kept wanting to race! 🤠
