Yep until they melt or fry your wiring. Seen it happen way too many times to trust these things...
Can you absolutely go a different route for cheaper? Sure...but again, it's nice being able to have it under warranty.
All a matter of opinion.... and as long as he/she is happy with their car, that's really the only opinion that matters
