Go look at the NHRA rules
150mph needs a chute
9.0 doesn’t need a cage
That makes sense. Do you think this #7 is under 9 seconds?

quoted-
“NHRA and IHRA racing, any race car that surpasses 150 mph in the quarter mile is required to have a parachute. If the race car goes over 200 mph, then dual parachutes are required.”

That’s what I’m unsure of

they could pull the “banned demon” thing where it ran a 9.65 but was banned because it didn’t have a cage. Would be amazing to see it run an 8.9 but man that’s moving

Demon's advocate here, hehe.

The Demon was not NHRA legal as released. Now a chute is much more family friendly than a cage, to your point.
I think the chute could be an optional direct connection part similar to single seat in Demons. I really think the wire thing is alluding to a delay box.

assuming that #7 will share the same air grabber hood as Demon tho' because Im not seeing how the engine will breath

Doesn't take much to make a Redeye run 9 flat right now.
This car will be advertised with an 8 second ET.
Whether 8.80 or 8.90 or 8.65, it will have an 8 second ET time slip

Im interested in seeing how the parachute will be incorporate into the design without taking away the looks.

I have heard they lowered the cage requirements, but not what I am seeing in the rulebook. Parachute at +150 is right. On stock cars after 2008 with all their DOT safety equipment can run as fast as 10...but anything below that still seems to indicate a roll bar at a minimum?

2014 and newer cars do not need safety gear until under 9.0 or over 150mph
2008-2013 cars do not need a roll bar to run under 11.49 (which used to be 11.99)
2007 and older cars require a 5 point roll bar to run under 11.49-10.00 ET. Convertibles need it at 13.99
2007 and older require a cage to run under 10.00 or over 135mph

I hope they would do something special or create a design because Its DAMN 8second car and set for the book.
stock hoods will be too basic IMO. don't you think?
Agreed
But its not a requirement to run these numbers. And the Demon hood is about the last thing that Dodge hasn't brought back out so that might stay tucked away to avoid lawsuits.

agreed~!
but it wont be quite attractive if they use the traditional hoods... so far Its confusing to make a visual difference between HC and Redeye LOL
