Looking for recommendations for header primary size. 392 with forged internals, whipple, mmx nsr camshaft. Mostly driven on the street. I'm finding mixed info on which to go with. Considering stainless power 1 7/8, stainless works 2 inch, or Texas speed 2 inch.

Oem heads?

Did you have them ported?

If so were they flowed on a bench?

if so what are the numbers?

The cam you have is small so not sure any of ^^^ that will really matter but it’s not wise to start making suggestions without having all the information first

Who put the motor together?

Who choose that camshaft for your combination?

At what rpm are you going to shift?

What does he/do they suggest for a shift point and for primary tube diameter?

Have you ever heard of burns stainless? They have a computer program. You give them all the numbers (all ^^^ that and a bunch more) and they will print you out a drawing with diameters and lengths of what header should work the best for your application. Dudes name is Vince Korin

As they say on Engine Masters, use the biggest header that you can fit. The design is also important too. It's a lot better getting bigger and "massaging" them, than to go smaller.

That theory works really well with turbo’s and nitrous jets too ha

Apparently pro stock and nascar builders don’t watch engine masters : )
