I have a question about the current market conditions? Back in 2019 I bought a new hellcat redeye widebody. It’s stickered for about 85K without tax and with some hard negotiating and the power bucks, I drove it out for about 71K plus tax.. now I’m getting bombarded with emails from the dealership offering to upgrade me to a new one and giving me a “great deal”.
Their great deal is to give me 64K for my car as it sits. Granted it’s my daily driver and I have 20,000 miles on it but I would classify it as very good condition. I have not beat up on it, it’s received regular maintenance and oil changes, it’s washed weekly and waxed when needed and has no damage whatsoever. I think that’s a very low number ( Blue book is well into the 70s) and what’s worse is they’re telling me they want 86K for a car that stickers for 84k , AND that’s for a “regular” Hellcat and not a redeye because they don’t have any in stock and I should be happy because they’re pulling 10 to 15 K over sticker right now!
I’m calling bullshit!
I will never do this deal or anything close in A million years but my question is: are new hellcat and redeyes really pulling 10 to 15K over sticker !?

Yep. Dont unload your current Hellcat and plan on getting any deals for a long while if ever. Those 2019/20 smoking deal days are over.

Do NOT fall for their BS. You can order a car for 4-5% below invoice from Dan Cummins or Koons. You CAN still get a great deal, you will just have to wait for your car to be built. That can take anywhere from two to four months. Mine took three, the wait was hard but so worth it. Spending a couple hundred dollars on a plane ticket to go pick up your new ride is worth saving thousands on a deal.

Those letter are usually BS too. I made the mistake long ago to show up at a dealership with one of those I had received in the mail and they tried to lowball me once I was there. Never again. Look up Vroom and Carvana to see if they can beat the dealership too, they have for many people, myself included and by a significant margin. Good luck!

Off topic : but curious! - How’s your personal feedback on Vroom? They always have decent models in stock and I hear the sales team is on point with making everything smooth sailing. Once paid the nightmare begins with getting the car shipped, all of a sudden they can’t find the pink after weeks and no contact to the customer, minor damage ,etc. Seems more than a handful of people were in similar situations, what’s your input experience? Could this just be a handful of “bad apples” or a high risk? It’s sure different buying online without even test driving it.
Been hawking different dodge dealer all around, vroom, carvana, carmax, TrueCar for that right deal but it’s a bih out here in California. Everyone’s trying to sell base models for 15k over msrp along with 10-25k miles on it…🤣🤣 I realize the inflation is a issue which I don’t mind, but if I’m making a purchase of 55k+ I want those extra packages.!

Best option with supply/demand the way it is now is to find a different dealer (the two previously listed aren't the only ones who will give you a good deal) and order what you want. Then either work out a trade in with them or sell to one of the online places like Vroom that are offering really good money. That assumes you are fine with waiting a few months for your order to be built.

For comparions, I just requested offers from Vroom and Carvana for my 2020 Challenger HC, 1000 miles, full PPF, loaded and the offers were $68,000 and $61,333.

I sold my previous hellcat to Vroom, I ordered my redeye from Jake aka Hellcat Jesus at Dan Cummins.

Selling to Vroom was a mostly smooth experience, except for them sending the wrong payoff amount to my bank for the old car, which forced me to make an extra payment on the old car that I shouldn’t have had to make. I got the overpayment back from my bank obviously but it was an annoying couple of weeks to get it sorted out. They gave me $3k more than others were willing to offer so the headache was still worth it!

Prices are starting to come down in the used market. It makes sense since these cars, sports cars and motorcycles usually dip in the winter. Been seeing 16 clean title HC getting down to sub 50k. I'm only looking at manual so not sure if its the same for auto as well, probably is since there are more autos produced.

I'd wait it out, Dodge made a shit load of these cars. If anything the "collectible" ones right now are the Demons. The superstock/redeye etc will be replaced by the last model year of that trim.
Think of it as a c7 z06, made in 2015-2019. 2019 will be the one that may be worth more in the long run...

I think the super stock really depends on whether they up the HP with the last year version. If not, I can see the 2020s having a higher value in the long run due to the very low production numbers. But...by the time these cars have value in the collectible market, I'll be too old to care.

That's happening already with the Demon prices, Demon MSRP was what $84k, now they're all above $100k. Not sure an SS of an earlier model will be worth more than a last model year SS, since it is the last model year. Before Dodge decides to go electric or whatever. Personally I'd love for them to drop some weight on these fat cars. No excuse why these cars weigh as much as an awd AMG E63S. Despite the E amg car being AWD, more loaded and more tech.
