Looks like I have to finance the car through Dodge to get the $1000 rebate, am I reading that correctly?

Also, wondering what rates Dodge is giving these days for those with excellent credit for 72 months.

I am approved via a credit union for 2.79% at 72 months right now, anyone have financing through Dodge that beats that?

I guess worse case is I can take the Dodge financing and refinance the loan with the credit union, just an extra step I wanted to avoid though...................

They gave me 5.12% with an 812 credit score through PNC....I'll be refinancing but wanted the $1000 credit. I also bitched enough about the insane rate that they made it 2 payments to qualify for the rebate instead of 3.

My credit union offered me almost the exact rate for 72 months. Definitely seems the way to go.

We are missing some info... what is the APR for the Dodge Loan?

There are Spreadsheets or Google to tell you what your total Interest Cost will be for each APR @ 72 months.

Then you can see if the $1K makes sense when you look at total cost.

Quote me if I’m wrong but I think it has to do with your zip code as far as dodge financing. Don’t know why but some areas get better rates than others. I saw a 2.99 for 72 months last month here in Michigan. I believe its 1.99 for 60 here now.

My car isn't delivered yet, I'm assuming it will be by the end of June. I guess I can call the dealership and have them run my credit and get me a rate before I get in there. Yeah if they give me a 6% rate or something I think that would eat up the $1000 in the first 3 months anyway........

I talked to the salesman; I’ll call him mid June and he’ll get me the best rate he can. The car has an estimated ship date of 6/16. Then I’ll see what I want to do about this $1000 rebate if it makes sense. I’ll let you guys know what they offer me.

My dealer got me financing, but not through Chrysler. They found a Credit Union, 3.99 and gave me $1000 rebate.

I posted this response in one of the other threads but I'll repeat it again in reference to my experience buying my Redeye at Koons last month.:

I applied for Koons' captive financing just to get the extra $1,000 off that Koons offered for financing through them. Keep in mind that it is NOT The Dodge financing offered as an incentive choice each month - like the current 0% for 36 month deal. It is a second tier financing pool that offer higher interest rates (and logically, a higher bonus $$$ amount to Koons for steering it their way)

I knew my credit score from all three credit bureaus and it ranged from 813 to 824 at the time I applied. This was in addition to the $1,000 incentive from Dodge for April and a $500 incentive for first responder/military. (so, a total of $2500 in incentives)

Their process has them sending the applications out through Chrysler Financial to whatever second tier company wants to make an offer.

Their application form said I had an 800 score which I disputed with them to no effect. The rates I got back from them were 4.6% and 3.99% for the 48 or 60 month terms.

At the time I applied they said I had to finance at least 1/2 the listed MSRP amount (regardless of the actual purchasing price amount) and had to make at least three payments before refinancing or paying it off. I was fully prepared to just pay for the car in full instead of financing and told them I'd make a decision about financing when I got there. They also said that since I went through the financing application and they did a credit check, I could use a personal check to pay for the car and didn't need to prearrange a certified check with an exact amount. (BTW they don't do wire transfers).

When I got there to pick up the car, the Koons finance guy who was handling the transaction asked me what I wanted to do about financing. As a joke I said your rate is too high for my credit score, otherwise I'd do it. Without batting an eye, he says "How about 2.67%?" from PNC. I said: "That sounds a lot more reasonable." He then asked: "Well how much would like to finance?" As a joke I said "$10,000". To my absolute shock he replied: "Thats fine with me. That still qualifies you for the $1,000 incentive"

So I ended up financing $10,327 at 2.67% (around $185 a month) through PNC via the Koons deal. And he said I could pay it off tomorrow or whenever I wanted and didn't even have to wait for the minimum three payments before doing it.

So I guess the lesson is when they ask you about their financing terms - give a honest/crazy response to their question - they just might agree to it.

i hear ya. The only question remains is that on the dodge website it has the 1000 incentive but says you must finance through Chrysler capital. You can choose $1000 or 0% for 36. I don’t see where you got the $1000 without strings attached?

Just talk to your salesman, they'll let you know exactly what to expect...

P.S.: Don't forget to get back to us and share what they say ;)

I dont know who you are buying from. Who is the "he" you are referring to? Is it Craig at Koons? Because Koons has their own $1,000 discount for financing through them as part of their 6% under invoice deal. (But I see you ordered a Jailbreak which I dont think is part of Koons financing discount).

Pictured below are the Dodge incentives for May. You have a choice of 0% for 36 months financing or a $1,000 incentive. You can only choose one of those.

So If you choose the Dodge $1,000 incentive, you cant do the 0% for 36 months Dodge deal. It's one or the other. You'd have to arrange financing through your own dealer or bank.

If you also happened to be buying an non Jailbreak through Koons and use their unrelated financing offer, you get that additional $1,000, for a total of $2,000. This is what I did on my Redeye.

Thanks for the details. He is a small dealer in PA that sold to me for MSRP. Koons wanted 30k over when I was looking to order.

Hey it never hurts to ask them if they’ll match it if u finance with them. All they can say is no. That’s why I was so shocked when the finance guy lowered my rate and let me finance just 10 grand of the price. I said it as a joke but he took me seriously and agreed!

Why is everyone saying "3 months" to make the payments on the higher interest loan?

Take the $1000 rebate with the (most likely) higher interest loan, and then refinance the car the next day with a different lender.
You making those 3 payments just makes sure the dealer is getting paid out on it, that's it. It's helping them, not you
