9/28/15 fits on lowered challenger

It’s not a wide body and I don’t want it to look like a stink bug/skate board with 305 or 315

Can’t get 28” tall 9” mickey in anything but a 15”

What I'm getting at is why go through the trouble of downsizing the rear brakes and changing suspension components to allow a 15" wheel to fit when the car doesn't need any of that hook? Is it just an aesthetic thing?
