Hey All,
First post in ages here. I'm going to trade in my very fine 17 Challenger Hellcat for a 21 Challenger Redeye. I love my car and have from day one. Warranty is expired and now having to replace a water pump and a fuel pump. I have decided to move on. My car is only at 37K miles, seems early for both of these. I drive her very hard but that should not matter.

Anyone regret going from a HC to HC Redeye? I'm sure I already know the answer.

The other question I have is regarding Direct Connection. Is the Redeye Stage 1, 840 HP and stage 2, 885 HP based on using 100 or 110 octane? It sounds like a dumb question but I was just at a "Direct Connection" dealership and they didn't know.
Why would they?

On the trade in, I could not let my 2015 Hellcat go since it’s just as fast as my 2019 Redeye so… As for kits DC says high octane fuel so the Demon car it’s high octane is 105 so ….

Thank's for the feedback.

My apologies, trading up for a 22 Challenger HC Redeye. Still stuck in last year I guess. I approached 3 local dealers attempting to put down a deposit on a 23 (thinking it will be the end of the run for the 6.2L). Turned away by all.

If 23 truly is the end of the run for the mighty 6.2? I literally can’t even begin to imagine what they’ll be charging for a “last year” model. I could almost bet there’s gonna be some kind of farewell edition or something to that effect. I don’t know just speculating but…. I might be somewhat right seeing as how they are already up charging for the JB and there is so much confusion around the allocations and the production numbers. Really makes you think what does Dodge have up it’s sleeve. The dealers will surely take full profit advantage.

I went from a ‘16 Hellcat to a REWB with 3.09’s. Big difference and worth it. I do think however that if youre not going WB then you may want to drive one first and then make up your mind. Kind of similar to what you already have. For me the WB and gearing are what made it so much better. Snappier and a more refined driving experience.

Thank you Slowpoke.
I hear what you are saying but (don't roast) dig the standard body. I have been going back and forth on this for a while. If a half WB was available I would have been on it. Imagine wide back, normal front. Badass.

Not roasting the standard body, I loved mine. But the WB makes it different and in a good way. I myself wouldn't have bothered to upgrade to another standard body. Ive had two of them prior and tbh another one wouldve just felt like more of the same.
And just for the record I hated the flares when they came out. I was that guy here blasting about how theyre afterthoughts and 4x4 and blah blah lol. Now? Love em. Go figure.

I'm on the fence. Came across a 19 WB Redeye today and it looked badass! It was white knuckle (my color). After close inspection it looked like the fenders were aftermarket. (Again no roast) but I could see a clear seam on each against the body.
I love the look but not refined enough for me.

A former ride. Look at that ass end. 91 911 Torbo , at the time one of the baddest cars on the road. 100K new, bought it for less than half that. My point is why not offer a half widebody? Fat in the back, trim up front?

I get it. That was my biggest gripe too. Trust me after a while you wont care. You wont even notice it either. I was exactly like you, was fixated on this. How things change lol. I wouldnt go back now. Do yourself a favor and drive one. Dont let that get in the way of at least seeing how different the two are.
Or you can find a standard body RE and have a very similar car to what you have now but newer.

I'm not bad mouthing the WB. As a matter of fact I went back and forth before I ordered my original body Redeye in the last year for Plum Crazy. First year Redeye, last year color. As far as performance goes, my good friend has a bone stock WB 2019 Redeye with a the 3.09 rear. He challenged me in my 2015 Hellcat (HHP Stage 1) to a rolling start run from 70. From 70 to 152 my wife was looking right in his eyes screaming go, baby go. He dropped off at 152. I was very impressed with my 2015. I can not wait to step on the Redeye and see what I can get out of it.

What were you expecting? They'd take your money for something they don't know ANYTHING about and that hasn't been talked about, yet alone introduced or confirmed or anything?

As a guy who traded a 19 regular cat for a 21 REWB, I say go for it, trade in your current ride will never be higher while you can still get a replacement. I would recommend, getting something “different” than what you currently have. Maybe its the options you wish you had, or the color, or go RedEye, or regular in widebody…whatever gets you excited to be behind the wheel.

If you dont love driving it, you wont love paying for it.
