Hello all!

I am starting this post as the first entry in my build history. The parts are all in the mail and the build will begin in the coming weeks.

I am currently untuned with the current 'performance effecting' modifications
: LMI CAI, JBA catless midpipes with a mid muffler swap to vibrant performance 1794 resonators.

I am currently working with a local shop and Curt with dusterhoff tuning.

The planned/purchased additional modifications are as follows:
MPVI2 Pro (HP tuners device)
--HPT tuning credits
HHP 180 deg Tstat
ID1300x fuel injectors
Litens 2.85 upper pully
HHP crank pin.
Unlocked PCM from OST
The Gasahol dual fuel pump.(for for fuel tuning)

Other current modifications/accessories to the vehicle are as follows:
Escort Max 360 with blendmount mirror mount and mirror power tap
AAD performance harness bar
Sabelt 4 PT harness (driver and passenger - street legal version)

If anyone has an opinion about whether I should go with a step colder for spark plugs or possibly an idler pully I would like to hear it
Currently I am running off the knowledge and experience of my tuners recommendations who I trust, however, it's nice to hear others opinions on the subject.

When the build is complete I will post my baseline numbers with the untuned LMI/catless mids and the results of the 2.85 on a flex fuel tune. My goal was 800whp and we are expecting 770whp(ish)on 91(thanks california) and 800-820whp(ish) on straight e85.

**my reasoning behind a 2.85 and Flex rather than just pump or E and a smaller pully is because where I am at, there is only 1 pump within 40 miles from my apartment and being in the military there is always a chance of moving or working late in unknown areas(in regards to gas stations) so having the saftey net of a flex tune really fits my situation.

Thanks for reading, I hope I can help someone who may be planning something similar!

All that should go quite well.

You started out with some of the same mods I did. I then chose a specific shop in my state of TX to do my bigger build, and eventually also went to Curt for his Flex Ethanol tuning.

You’ve made lots of good choices there.

Make sure you upgrade the drive shaft to something stronger if you plan to use drag radials and/or visit the drag strip, which I bet is a “yes.”

That’s exciting... good luck!

They claim you can't use a gates green belt either if I recall, which is also stupid.
What's the purpose of arguing with a guy trying to help out people on the forum, especially a person with first hand knowledge of the product. If anything is stupid, it's arguing against fact with just your opinion. ;)

Theres are no facts that I've seen which was my point and I'm entitled to my opinion. I didnt see an argument, just difference of opinion. If you got facts to share with the rest of us, post up.

Sorry I was delayed on everything. I ended up dealing with 2 more radiator issues where it was leaking and throwing coolant all over my engine bay, I'm on my 4th OEM radiator now but it will hold until the install. I also ended up damaging my oil cooler somehow and I dropped all the oil out of my engine driving home from my oil change.
Long story short I have been rescheduled with my tuner and everything and should have dyno number by the end of next week.
I have also decided to go with a mishimoto drop in radiator to be installed with the build to address the continuous failing of OEM. I have also ordered the MFER-1 plates for my active exhaust valves. I chose to do this after doing some research about the rattling I get from them. From what I have learned on the forums its mainly happening to cars with the offroad midpipes (like mine).
I look forward to sharing the results with everyone next week.

Tuner can adjust the AEV's to default open 100% of the time and/or delete the codes so you can unplug them without a CEL.

Theoretically of course.

Okay, this is going to be a long one.
Strap in, its story time.

So disregarding the fact I was delayed over a week from bowing my oil cooler, the problems seem to persist.
I am changing my cars name from Lucy to Nightmare child because this has been one thing after another.
I won't get into a few of the smaller setbacks during some of the project that honestly probably happen all the time, i want to get straight to the meat and potatoes of the story. I had 3 different businesses that i was going through, the install facility, dyno facility, and the tuner. 1st step at the install facility, i was informed that my motor mounts were loose, weird enough, both bolts were backed off where the nut was flush with the ends of the bolts. Inspected it, fixed it, moved on. got the pully, injectors, PCM, radiator, MFER-1, gasahol fuel pump all put in and buttoned up, no gaskets were re-used and everything was done correctly. a few things got delayed, got pushed back a few days and eventually we get the car towed to the dyno facility.
Well, we broke the fuel line clip while draining the tank, fixed it, moved on. filled the tank with e85. Next day we get the car on the dyno and she is running sluggish, we didn't completely drain the tank i guess and it was reading about E50. so we topped her off with more E85 and got it closer to an E70 blend. Car ran strong. She dyno'd at 810whp on that E70 blend (dynojet STD smoothing5) about 85 degrees out that day. The transmission was also tuned.
Now this is where things get wonky.
My drive home is about an 90 minutes from the dyno shop and 2 hours from the install facility, add 30 minutes if i was transiting from work. (I mention this because i had to drive up like 4 times --- thats alot of uber money)
Anyways, on with the story.
We get the car off the dyno, we say our goodbyes, and i peel out of the shop. I immediately felt like I was driving a whole new car. If anyone is scanning the forums to hear other peoples experiences like i did not too long ago before I pulled the trigger on the project----let me tell you, when everyone says it feels like its a whole different car at 800whp and then you say to yourself "really though, is it really that different" and then you go scroll youtube to see if you can find any videos comparing the two...let me just say IT REALLY DOES. I didn't feel like my stock hellcat at all...after one pull I immediately recognized how much faster the car was now. It seriously blew my mind. okay, i think i drove that home...whole new car. Okay so I am about 50 minutes into my drive back to work in my car I have missed so much, I obviously do a few 60 -130 pulls on the open tollway (again I am blown away.) I start to relax and relish in my 'new' hellcat. as i was cruising at around 70mph I slightly gave the accelerator a push to maintain speed on a slight uphill and what felt like my drive train started shuddering with (im guessing 5% power actually making it to the wheels) so I immediately let off the gas and try to ease into it again (as i am making my way to the shoulder). Before i can make it to the shoulder the dash lights up with all types of lights and chimes.
These are the codes that came up.
The initial error codes were: P0607 and "service electronic throttle control"
I do a couple restarts to get out of limp mode and try and make it to anywhere safer than a shoulder on a California Highway. (call tuner, call install they help tremendously) Again I do the limp mode restart and stop for the next 2 miles to desperately make it home. after making it home just as i get it home a second code pops up: P2A0A.

Codes triggered: P0607, P2A0A, "Service electronic throttle control"

I have only found one solution for the P0607 and they replaced the intake gaskets on a whipple build. but that code has to do with PCM malfunction but there are alot of triggers for it and the P2A0A has to do with an intake MAF sensor.

My install shop and tuner are both working to the best of their ability to get my beloved (and daily driver) back to me as quickly as they can.

I ask that if anyone has some actual insight on the described issues above, i would really appreciate the help. I have full faith and confidence in both my tuner and install shop to help me fix the situation but any help a welcomed.

Next part of my write up, if anyone has the need for an A++++ install shop that will treat you car like their own, look up Redline Performace Parts in Covina, CA. Jesus is the Lead man over there and has kept me up to date with every step of the process, informed me of any thing that fell outside of a routine job, purchased a car cover for my car so when it had to sit she stayed clean, detailed the car for me before it shipped to my dyno tune, followed every one of my requests to a T, and went completely above any beyond any and all expectations i had for speed shops. Before the hellcat I had a magnuson charged 5.7 2013 challenger, helped build up my wifes 2012 Evo to 400 awhp and helped build my cousins blown hemi. Redline performance and Jesus specifically has set the bar for any service i will ever have done on car again. After I contacted him about the car going into limp mode, he immediately got on the phone with me and plenty of others, giving me direction and guidance to get me home safely. I am not exaggerating when I say its the best customer service experience of my life. So again, check out Jesus from Redline performace parts in Covina, CA if you are looking for a reputable place to get your car worked on. He is also staying in contact with me on the daily as they go through the process of elimination with all there work before we go and replace the PCM and get on the hook with the tuner to get it all loaded up again and ready to go. By the way, Redline guarantees their work, after these issues arised, Redline immediately made room for my car on a rack, took the car back without me having to ask and is doing everything in their power to get her running again. feel free to PM me if you want more information.

The Car ran on the Dyno located at Racers Edge Tuning in Downy, CA. Greg was my POC over there and made room for me whenever my nightmare car wanted to be ready to get tuned. Very flexible, respectful, and always willing to help.

The Car was Tuned by Curt Dusterhoff from Dusterhoff Tuning. Obviously that guy needs to introducing from little old me. He is sticking with me through every step of the way from exchanging over 50 emails answering every question I had from his perspective on LTs, the safest Flex fuel setup, to now where he also guarantees his work and is already ready to ship out a new PCM if that is indeed the issue with the car. Oh and did I mention...850whp>669whp (my baseline with 2.85 no tune) and IT FEELS LIKE A WHOLE NEW FASTER BETTER TIRE SHEDDING SPEED MACHINE.

Anyways, thanks for sticking with my nightmare build, I hope you enjoyed the narrative. I will be sure to post the results of figuring out what the hell is going on with my car as well as some pictures and videos of the dyno if i can figure all that out.

P.S. please feel free to share any information anyone has on the P0607 and P2A0A anyone who has these issues like me in the future I am sure will appreciate it. and feel free to PM me with any questions you got.

So far, I troubleshooting has gone as follows: put the car back to stock, filled up on 91 and ran the car - no issues, did some light driving around town and again no issues. Now car is back to modified, ran, and lightly driven with no issues. The shop is going to take her out one more time before they give the car the blessing. At this point everyone is stumped and thinking whatever tripped the P0607 and P2A0A codes in conjunction with the electronic throttle control errors could have been a loose sensor, or just a crazy 1 off issue. If all goes well, I am excited to get my car back after a month and I hope we will not have any issues moving forward. I am very happy with everyone at Redline Performance Parts, Curt Dusterhoff, and Mike @ OST for being supportive and ready to help as we have progressed through troubleshooting. It has set the bar for customer service in my experience, and I am excited to work with them all again when I start my next build thread in a few years when I step in to the whipple club.

So, reviving an old thread here.
Just a quick update to the build.

Going in this week will be:
FI blower spacers/ thermal blanket
Bwoody 3.5" heat exchanger
Wiles Drive Shaft
PF4 Dirs
ZL1 addons hubcentric 3mm wheel spacers (my 315s with the mps4s rub the liner just a bit)
Corsa Xtreme catback

Also what has been added in the recent weeks is:
Bwoody rear upper control arms and front sway bar end links.

I dont plan on getting on a dyno anytime soon, but I will post the results when I do to hopefully show a gain from the spacers/blanket. At the end of they day, power wasn't the goal, obviously it was cooler temps. Over the last few weeks I've been taking pics of my IATs and other temps to compare after the install.

I will report back later this week with some results!
