Thanks. Just so we're clear... I have an auto trans in my Rubicon. I have not personally experienced any powetrain/driveline issues since installing a Tazer, and certainly none that I know are attributale to the Tazer. I am fully aware that all of the modules in modern vehicles communicate and as a former GM engineer, I even know HOW some of them do that. That said, there are specific paramaters about which they communicate and others about which they do not, depending upon the system at issue. What I want to know is not what his "theoretical" issue is with the Tazer, but if he has any real world experience with specific issues that he (or his clients) have experienced that were unequivocally tied to the Tazer as opposed to any other mods or tomfoolery going on in the modded car. I do not assume that the Tazer could NOT inject such issues, but I have not heard/seen real world evidence that it, in fact, does. That is precisely why I asked the question.
Likewise. Have been using a Tazer in my car for 4+ years without issue.

My tranny guy wouldn’t build me a new trans unless I got rid of the tazer. That’s all I know. If you have questions for him you should ask him.

*Actually that isn’t true - I know that Tazer adjusts or adds drive modes and that the TCM considers drive mode when it is accessing shift schedule tables, oncoming clutch pressure settings, oncoming pressure ramps, off going clutch pressures and ramps, fill offsets, max mode, oncoming inertia mode delays, slip times, fill times, and nominal slip times. Then there’s the torque converter which has I don’t know 75 or 100 maps and all of torque managementwhich you know damn well is looking at drive mode. I am not sure where drive mode ties into situation mapping, type mapping, and aggression mapping, but know that it has something to do with the different driver types

David is a smart guy. He tunes his own trans. Has a fast car that lives. I listen to people like that.

Literally none of that matters to me since my car is manual. It sounds like you don’t actually have an answer for those of us who are not looking to have a transmission built by your guy. And that’s ok.

Tazer doesn't modify anything with the trans, it only enables the SRT modes that are already present if you had the right build (i.e. an SRT 392). There is no difference in engine/trans from a SRT 392 to a SP/Daytona 392.

Now the Tazer can reset the adaptive shift logic which is how the car learns your driving habits. But that doesn't do anything but force the car to start adapting again.

He might be a great trans guy, but that doesn't mean he knows about things beyond it.

Thank you for pointing that out. The last thing you ever want to do with a ZF8 is reset the adaptives. As in NEVER. Yet with a tazer that option is just a click away. Tbh it is highly unlikely that clicking on it actually resets them. That is a whole other conversation though, and not one to be had with closed minded minimally (if at all) experienced individuals. Enjoy your cars and your tazer’s.

Douchebag mode, Activated!!! Nice work, you consescending jerk. At least we now all know one area in which you are not "minimally experienced"... being disrespectful of others from behind your keyboard.

Clearly, your expertise is not with transmissions if you honestly believe that one should NEVER reset adaptives in a ZF (including ZF8) transmission. I don't know where you learned that, but I assume it was from your "trans guy." Wherever you learned it... it's wrong. But yeah, it's everyone else here who is "minimially experienced."

I have no complaints with my 16 Kittys Harman Kardon System or my 8.4 display. Its a hell of a lot faster than the same set up in my old 2019 1320 and I don't use uconnect, (nor did I use it on my 2019). I get in my 2016 Kitty and it starts playing the music on my iPhone, I have a great Nav System, Back Up Camera, Sound, and I start it from inside the house no problem with the key fob, Yes it takes a few seconds to display the Performance Pages but way faster than my old 2019 ever was. Only thing I would like to see is a lower RPM on launch control but I've found the Kittys Launch Control is pretty much useless so no biggie (for me).

Whats the advantage of upgrading to Panasonic or other, am I missing something ? (cause I am a glutton for punishment so.... LOL)
