2017 hellcat challenger radio delamination.

Mopar extended warranty bought in 20' when purchased at dealership.

Tomorrow visit is only to confirm delamination. When they actually change it will it require the PCM to be flashed for any reason?

My 2017 screen was just replaced under ext warranty.
Tech pulled the bezel off, 4 screws around the unit removed, a few electrical connections unclipped and the unit is out.

The unit has to be electronically initialized to the car- for some reason this was the difficult part.
No other parts required.

I just replaced the screen on my 2017. No warranty. 400 dollars for new screen.

Depending on the price of a new unit, I think the screen replacement would have been my go-to.
I watched a video on how to do it. Lots of patience required to get that screen OFF. Totally doable though.

Call dealership. Wanted 1500 dollars for replacement of entire unit. Won't just replace screen. It was 1200 for the parts 300 to reprogram.

339 bucks, took an hour. No dealer to have to deal with and an updated screen model.

Wow- the video that I saw showed someone prying off the original screen and resealing it.
Replacing it is MUCH faster and easier.

Super easy to just buy the new updated LCD Monitor for $400. If I recall just six screws in the back and unplug old monitor and swap them out. Only took 30-45 minutes. No flashing or programming required.

Local dealership has been very helpful and accommodating. verified the issue and has ordered the replacement radio. Interesting how they don't just replace the screen and the entire radio is replaced. that's gotta be expensive. Luckily my portion is 200.

At the end of the day though knowing all of this are they gonna have to Flash the PCM for any reason?
