My SRT was stolen from the West Loop neighborhood in Chicago last night. They cut the drivers side rear passenger window, and gained entry. Then a new key fob was made and the car was gone. Caught on security camera at 145am on 7/19/21. IL PLATE AV51214. Cars is pinging like crazy still over 24 hours after being stolen, current location is Harvey IL. Not counting on a return, sad to see it gone, but i did enjoy it Saturday and Sunday night on a drive out so at least I got a good ride with it before it was stolen.

So sorry this happened. My Durango Hellcat was stolen in a similar fashion early last month and insurance finally got around to making me whole.

I wouldn't rely on where Uconnect says your car is. The detective who handled my case said the first thing these thieves do is block Uconnect's tracking ability so it's basically useless. At one point, tracking said my truck was apparently a mile into the Atlantic.

Depending on your outlook on theft recovery, I hope everything works out in your favor. It's absolute bullshit that we have to worry about this type of thing.

I wouldn't rely on where Uconnect says your car is. The detective who handled my case said the first thing these thieves do is block Uconnect's tracking ability so it's basically useless. At one point, tracking said my truck was apparently a mile into the Atlantic.

Did you lease or own? I lease, so I presume all my positive equity is now lost. (which I planned on rolling into a hellcat, i guess plans do change a moments notice sadly). As of now its still pinging and active so we can only hope but hope is all I have left at this point.

I lease thru Chrysler Capital. The Lease also has Gap Insurance. Talk to your Finance Person and your Leasing Company to see where you are at...

Never found it. Never pinged. In and out in a minute or so from a secured parking garage.

My insurance company screwed me. Have six other cars and moved them all after.

They tried to compare to scat pack prices and market value and covid pricing were off by about $8k after all was said and done.

Market now is even worse.

I moved on for now. Maybe get another one if/when market comes back to reality.

I agree that I wouldn't want mine back, and part of me is glad that my Hellcat was never found. However, I strongly recommend against confronting these shitheads. Most are more than likely armed and have nothing to lose should they get caught.

I was feeling the same when I learned these are the number 1 targeted stolen car in America right now. However, I garage year round’ and park 5 feet away from my window within eye sight of my business office. I daily mine half of the time though. I never go to walmart, big parking lots, etc. I went to a local grocery store the week I got my SS, was only in there 6 or 7 min, and when I came out, an about 20 year old white male was looking in the window closely. I hit the auto start and he jumped hard...then turned around seeing me, said “awesome car I was just admiring it.” But then, he RAN all the way across to the other side of the lot and jumped in the passenger side of a running POS car and took off. I guarantee he was steaking it out to jack it! Never again out of my sight for more than a sec or two. If you don’t garage yours, they are bad to follow you home to find out where you live, then come back at night and grab em’. It’s sad that they are so easy to steal. Gonna also get a club for the wheel and a hidden kill switch. You can’t prevent theft 100%, but you can make it harder.

I am just north of Chicago. I have a few cars that are garage kept and have a revelco system installed on 2 cars now. It’s only about 500$, they install at your home and it gives me much more confidence that I may lose a window, but not my car (not counting on it being towed). Seems most of the theft is fob related. At least 2 dealers by me have had cars taken from service bays.
