I installed the current generation Tazer and it does what it says it does. Mainly wanted it for LineLock. Also thought I’d install a front camera so I ordered Zautomotive’s AV harness and extension cable. Installed a new camera up front and still searching for best routing through the firewall. I wanted to test the camera out so hooked everything up. No work!

Quite possibly die to my not having things set up correctly so here are some feedback and experience with ZAutomotive so far.

1. Their instructions are crap and read like ”how much information can we cram onto the least number of pages. It’s disjointed and not well laid out. Spend som time and organized the instructions better. Maybe have separate ones for each generation/model.
2. Under the radio Nonlive menu, I enabled cargo camera.
3. After using ZAutomotive’s “Text” support which means next day response, They had me check under the Live Menu and set my radio to the 8.4 UConnect. I did that. Text support dropped off….

No camera, no video although I could see the cargo camera option in the “Controls” app on the UConnect.

I did all the reboots, sleep cycles etc… still no video…

I test the power going to the camera and have 12 volts.

Reached back out the the “Text“ support and no response….

About ready to give up on the this set up and look at other options unless anyone has some tips.

This is the camera I’m using:

PARKVISION Mini Car Side View Camera/Rear View Camera/Front View Camera with Rotatable 360°Lens,Easy Installation Without Drilling, Upside Down Flip Image Function Without Guideline.

The only thing I haven’t done is cut the blue wire on the camera to switch it from back up to front mode. I figured I didn’t need to do that until I know it’s working. It’s getting 12v constant power so should be sending video out….

Please share any feedback you might have…

Where did you get their support from? They usually answer quickly on Facebook.

Try disconnecting the battery. I have a 2019 and had a few issues. What really helped after the complete resets, was resetting the radio, either with a battery disconnect or unplug the radio fuse for a few seconds.

I dont remember where, but a bit of instruction stated to reset the battery on 2018s+ for things to take effect.

It also takes an on off cycle for the radio to come back to normal after the power disconect.

One other thing to check, I used the #24/25 (aux 1 video) for the video input.

Thanks, and I did that and did see where you pull the add a circuit to reset the radio. I'm only using 21/22 for the front camera and not adding any Aux video. ZAutomotive support said I should be able to toggle between the front camera and rear and get a blank blue screen for the cargo camera and don't need to have a camera hooked up to see that their side is working.

I told them I'd try next week that I was done with it for now.

Do you have a good spot to penetrate the firewall for the cables?

I have done this on 3 different cars. Here on my 2021 Redeye. The only issue I have ever had was not seating the pins all the way into the harness.

Looks like you mounted the camera where Sto-N-Sho's license plate bracket mounts to two screws.

Which camera did you use, and is the mount wide enough for the two screw locations? Or how did you mount it?

Also, where did you run the wiring through the firewall?

BTW, Octane Red is a beautiful color!

Thanks,
Scott

Used this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V371Q49/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and mounted with tape. There is a grommet on the passenger side, not fun to go through.
i really like the color too.
Can’t respond about the stow and go screws.
